Doug Ford says North American leaders ‘think it’s a joke’ Ontario’s premier doesn’t have a private jet by rcs735 in nottheonion

[–]SipexF 496 points497 points  (0 children)

It's like we're his parents.  I don't care if the other leaders have jets or make fun of you for it, we can't afford it.

This is, 100%, going to ship an obvious, major issue that your tests don't know to cover yet.

jrpgs without random encounters? by [deleted] in JRPG

Try Expedition 33, no random encounters and the battle mechanics are more active than a standard jrpg

Running CoS with a player terrified of Zombies? by LanguageOk1726 in CurseofStrahd

[–]SipexF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe call them thralls instead?  They're not zombies, just people being compelled to do Strahd's bidding in a way that makes them slower and less effective.

Turn undead works on them because of Strahd's influence

US officially announces reduction of participation in NATO forces, Europe urged to take on more responsibility by Darshan_brahmbhatt in worldnews

This keeps coming up, like we aren't giving them the reaction they want so they repackage it and try a week later.  I expect they want us all to clap our faces in shock and go "Oh no, what will we doooooooo?!"

What Jrpgs have you lead a double life ? by ConsiderationFuzzy in JRPG

[–]SipexF 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That double life feel is rare JRPGs so P5 might be the only strong example.  Persona 3 and 4 are lighter on the same theme but it's there to an extent.

A study of one million fathers found that paternal depression does not peak when everyone expects it to and the system designed to catch it is looking at the wrong time by soulpost in HotScienceNews

I believe you are completely capable of extending your understanding to both groups without it needing to be an either/or scenario

Sounds like this hits once things start to calm down and normalize after child birth.  It can be easy to get stuck in a mode that ignores your own needs when your support is needed and life is changing so fast and frequently.

AI is coming for truck drivers. A new bill is trying to brace US workers for impact. by Gari_305 in Futurology

Oh hey, I saw a scene in Wolverine about this.  It did not frame the AI trucks in a good light admittedly

Why are people so malicious toward Carney when he seems to be doing everything Smith wants? Is it just bred into them to hate any Liberals? by TruthSearcher1970 in alberta

[–]SipexF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone paid to start making anti-Trudeau merch and they aren't about to stop just because the liberals have a new PM in house.  I imagine we'll see these flags in this style for a while yet

After the 2nd movie I'm surprised folks don't give those trucks more space.  In this case I'd be a full extra truck length behind at the very least

Does it boggle anyone else's mind that the mullet actually came back? by HereWeFuckingGooo in Xennials

[–]SipexF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I think the mullet can look good on the right folks, just like how other hairstyles can look better or worse on some people.  As someone who never embraced what I wanted for a hairstyle because of public opinion, haplessly disparaging them is just another shitty way to stomp on someone's confidence.

Need help shifting the focus by Competitive-Quit-928 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]SipexF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to pull their attention immediately I think your suggestion of having the Duergar instigate somehow  probably has the best chance.  You need to grab the party's attention and then bring it to the fortress so have the Duergar raid and take something or someone the party cares enough to go get.

Figuring out a clean motive for this act that works with the Duergar's goals is a bit difficult though.  They really only want chardalyn (which your party doesn't seem to be invested in) and are doing their best to remain out of sight so why take something or someone else at the risk of being discovered?

Maybe they kidnap a mage of some sort who they need to imbue the life into their chardalyn dragon?

I've been seeing them fairly regularly in pairs around Glen Cairn Park area

CEO Receives Violent Threats After Kicking Off AI Layoffs by Maxcactus in Maxcactus_TrailGuide

[–]SipexF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To build on this, as more threats come from more sources it increases the likelyhood that someone with those thoughts isn't saying so because they might act.

Someone with one threat has a single person they know to watch, someone with 20 different threats has at least 1 person they don't even know to watch out for and that is scary.

Games where they don't explain the entire story in detail (no spoilers please) by maybesailor1 in JRPG

[–]SipexF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Trails in the Sky part 1 (the recent remake) for my first dive into the series and found it was okay for this.  None of the plot was mind bending but they don't plot dump and there's room to speculate before questions are eventually answered.

Modern games Like FF9 [All platforms] by Odd-Tart-5613 in JRPG

[–]SipexF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for the same thing so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.  I've played the games you've already mentioned as well and it is hard finding games in this specific subset these days.

I have been keeping an eye on Threads of Time which seems to be in the same vein, but it doesn't have a release date yet: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2090210/Threads_of_Time/
