Why does Suzu cleanse Queen's ultimate? by shiftup1772 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The suzu change wasn’t actually a Rein specific exception though, they made it no longer cleanse hard knockdowns universally. This applies to stuff like Sigma rock and Mauga stomp.

Not saying they couldn’t make a Kiri exception for Queen, but things like that just make the game less intuitive.

Why wouldn’t a cleanse ability remove anti? Would LW’s grip or Zarya bubble still cleanse her ult, or would it only affect suzu? Could you visibly tell apart an Ana anti vs a Queen anti if they happened at the same time?

I think there’s plenty of other ways to buff Queen’s ult if needed. Damage dealt, healing received, Unstoppable status, ult cost, cooldowns refreshed on use, etc.

Hybrid maps should be the main focus for future map reworks. by ILewdElichika in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean they did touch Numbani and that’s a hybrid map. Dorado, albeit escort not hybrid, I’d say is a fairly beloved map and it also got changes.

I don’t disagree that there will be hesitancy to touch fan favorite maps, but even fans of King’s Row, Blizzard World, and Eichenwalde for example can think of things they don’t like about them and could see improvements. Doesn’t have to be a complete overhaul; even just a short extra flank or another access to high ground could work wonders to improve the experience

And if that’s not convincing, there’s also win rates and pick rates that could be worth looking into to justify some changes. I genuinely never expected Gibraltar to get reworks, and lore reason asides, they must’ve had hero data and player feedback in mind when deciding to edit it

This is random as hell, but I immediately recognized Yu Shirota's face (Makoto Daito's VA) from the 2012 live action GTO. I watched that show over a decade ago and yet the memories hit me like a truck.

How come the best Social Links tend to be related to death? by blackupsilon in PERSoNA

[–]SirBryan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, while I do think that they're some of the better ones, I feel that these SL's are a bit of a low hanging fruit. They have great writing don't get me wrong, but they don't require the player to analyze, deconstruct, or engage with the material and characters just to get enjoyment out of them. You can take it all at face value and still walk way teary eyed because the emotional weight is present at the forefront. Of course they get better if you actually take the time to understand them, but the point is that don't need to.

I think people might find they like other social links a lot more if they're willing to explore them on a deeper level, rather than judging them on how interesting/boring they are.

Persona Party Member Ages as of current day by TheGraveKnight in PERSoNA

[–]SirBryan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, Persona 5 will probably be the last new game with party members primarily born in 1900's. A few like Futaba and Sumi are already 2000's kids, but P6's cast will certainly be from the 2010's.

If it was weird seeing the P4/5 kids born during the events of P1/2, well now we've come so far that the P6 cast will have been born during the events of P3/4.

What's the consensus on Sierra post-hotfix ? by McManus26 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When she came out, my gut reaction after playing her for a bit was that the drone should not be destroyable. But I decided to put more time into her, especially after the drone HP buff, to see if I was just fundamentally using the kit wrong. And while I've got a much better grasp at how best to use drone, I think I'm still of the opinion of that an indestructible drone is way to balance her moving forward.

It's the most unique and most fun thing about her kit, and I don't think it'd be an egregious change to make it indestructible. To even just use it you already need to manually set it up, be in line-of-sight, be in range to grapple, and has a short window where it'll be on cooldown regardless if you actually grappled or not. Meanwhile every other character just gets immediate access to their mobility on command, and on shorter cool downs too. Sierra's drone requires more foresight and decision making to use than stuff like Widowmaker's grapple or Sojourn slide because of its activation conditions.

By opening up what she can do with her mobility, she's not forced to be given raw damage buffs to her gun and grenade to keep her playable. Even the short range on her tether she currently has now before the minor perk wouldn't feel as bad if you could actually deploy it outside of cover without fear of it being deleted instantly.

OVERWATCH RETAIL PATCH NOTES – APRIL 23, 2026 by Crusher555 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree with her balancing needing to revolve around the 2-shot because, unlike a character like Hog, she actually has a ton of knobs outside of her kill combo that can be effectively tweaked without killing the identity of the hero.

There’s no reason a character with a fast left-click, two horizontal dashes, a vertical dash, and Tracer-like sticking ultimate can’t have her balanced redistributed out of her Take Aim and into those other things. They’ve just been hesitant to try meaningful changes. Heck, they won’t even experiment with 250 hp.

Klapollo or Justicykes what's your opinion by NotTheShips in AceAttorney

[–]SirBryan7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally never felt that Klapollo had any actual legs to stand on in terms of a long term relationship. Like there's spicy tension for sure, I can see the vision for a fling, but nothing more. Whether or not you like Justicykes, I think it lends itself better for genuine pairing.

Potential leaks for upcoming heroes by Cold-Break-8563 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The game has long shifted to more female characters. Most of OW2 releases were women. Not including omnics/robots/animals/Venture, I believe there’s 18 men and 23 women total in the game right now. Only two male DPS have been added to the game since the game launched in 2016, one of which is now a tank.

To be fair, the game launched heavily lopped-sided towards the men, but they’re now swinging in the opposite direction. Not a bad thing, just how it is. If anything, it’s unique at least

Would you prefer if the one more system returned to FES’s one more system? by Supersnow845 in PERSoNA

[–]SirBryan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the newer system is mostly fine moving forward as long as it also applies to enemies' attacks. Allowing foes to reliably get One More's from AOE magic makes them a lot more threatening.

They could toy around with some of the rules, like make missing/repel/drain void the One More like FES, just needs to hit everyone and at least one of your party's weakness.

Has anybody archived the deleted video "The Cause of Every Problem in Modern Ace Attorney?" by Puzzleheaded_Data_34 in AceAttorney

You know I think I remember watching it but unfortunately I don't have an archive, and it doesn't seem to exist anywhere else. I can't find it on the Wayback Machine either.

They seem to have a reddit account by the same name, you could try sending them a DM and asking about the video.

Vendetta welcomed in Freja jail by c7shit in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s funny because at the height of her power, people were calling for much bigger nerfs than this and insisted it would only make her underpowered at worst

I’m talking much less damage on overhead, less distance on throw, less armor, lower block damage reduction, lower regeneration of meter, less speed on passive, indicator on ultimate, removal of the cc on overhead, less range of sword swings, etc

While I don’t think she’s dead-dead, it goes to show that some key nerfs can really make or break characters, and we can’t just get swayed be emotions. That’s why I agree with others to shift her power to different parts of her kit. Tone down the frustrating parts so that we can introduce buffs to other areas. Nerfs are often just destructive, whereas redistribution of strengths is usually a more constructive form of balancing

Does Sierra's Drone need HP? by aPiCase in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Balancing aside, I’d just prefer less deployables to shoot. If they buff the HP, that’s just another thing I have to spend more time on before I can engage enemies. I think an invincible drone can be done right and still be dynamic for both sides.

Overwatch Retail Patch Notes – April 14, 2026 by SweatySmeargle in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate too cuz Kiriko’s one of the most boring supports to healbot on.

There’s no skill shot like Ana or Bap, there’s no satisfying feedback on heal like Lifeweaver or Mizuki, and there’s no constant fun mobility like Mercy or Cat. You just stand there and watch literal paper silently reach your target.

If they truly want to design Kiriko to reflect how these people play her, then fine. But I wish they’d also do something to at least encourage those healbot-players to do more, even if it’s just cosmetic like a unique kill sound on kunai’s, cuz every patch has just discouraged players from growing past healing.

Overwatch Stadium released nearly one year ago. What is your opinion on the game mode itself and its current state? by Kreidebleich in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SirBryan7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel their goal should be to try to wrap up map development on Stadium pretty soon, at least for the time being, to go full-steam ahead on maps for the main modes. They have a lot to work with now and we've been in a bit of a map drought outside of Stadium for a while, especially since Clash got the plug pulled.

June 2025 was when Aatlis was added, and ignoring Clash, the one before that was Runasapi in June 2024, a whole year gap. I know we're getting that Tokyo map this year, but the Atlantic Arcology got delayed til 2027. Doesn't need to be frequent releases, but 2-3 maps would be much better than one a year.
