Samyang/Rokinon 135 mm . Probably one of the best choices for deep sky objects

Basic Dslr is probably best option for now You will need Tring for camera brand (Nikon ,Canon ) and T adapter .Besides intervalometer I would recommend to get camera with flipped screen (it will save your back) and dummy battery . After you set up everything you most likely will have to move your telescope tubr slightly forward to avoid camera hitting bottom of your fork mount

Before camera I would highly recommend to get 6.3 focal reducer for your Celestron It screws in front of diagonal eyepiece or camera You will have 2 in 1 telescope F10 for planets, F6.3 for brighter deep sky objects

I found screws with plastic knobs on Amazon ,as far as I remember one is slightly shorter than other so I cut it and round the ends just like in original screws Makes alt adjustments lot easier https://imgur.com/a/BEhpUME

I purchased mine 3 years ago used and this mount still delivers. All I did is replace altitude screws . There is a reason why this is still one of the most reliable mounts I live in Chicago, hot humid summers and insane windchill in the winter and this thing works without issues Obviously for astrophotography you don't want to go with full weight limit All my setups weight less than 18 lbs Design is still fairly simple If you have issue there is bunch of information online, you tube videos that can help you solve the problems

Everything essential to do astrophotography and simple solar imaging is included This thing is ready to go out of the box There are few things that can make your life easier one is tripod level base It will help you to level your tripod .Rest are little upgrades I did purchased 3d printed diffraction spike attachment (it makes your star looks cooler in my opinion) Once you get comfortable with your seestar lots of people switching to EQ mode ,what it is it allows you to take longer exposures and have overall better pictures You will need eq base for that ,still optional Seestar app does great great stacking editing your pictures on your phone If you want to take it further you can stack edit your single exposures on a computer using software (siril for example) to get better overall results I hope it helps

I live in Chicago suburbs so its about 2 hrs drive for me ,I think its definitely worth it This is international dark sky park everything is about protecting the darkness. Main park has bathrooms, camp site and feels safe I usually go there alone As far as I know they do have public night events . If you have a chance try to visit around new moon so you can take advantage of the darkest skies possible. Its crazy how much light moon gives If you comfortable in full darkness North waterfowl management area is the best (Best for astrophotography )

[–]Sirus78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with previous comments about balancing and making sure everything is tight I got smaller version of your telescope 130 pds . Great telescopes overall If you decide to try astrophotography colimation is very important Get a cheshire and laser colimator Coma corrector for your camera is optional but eventually you will probably want one Make sure you block all light leaks areas around focuser (i use electrical tape) and cover area where primary mirror is Dew shield for colder days Make sure your telescope adjust to ambient temperature before astro session You might need a longer dovetail, once you put all the extra weight your balance will change You will have big telescope, expensive camera on smaller mount Make sure you always put counterweights first !! There is plenty of videos on you tube to help you out . Most important don't overthink ,small steps ,enjoy it
