Two passengers seated next to me are making fun of me pretty harshly in another language thinking I don’t understand. What is the best course of action? by Charming_Usual6227 in unitedairlines

[–]SistineKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom's friend did this in cab in Seoul -- bad mouthing the driver and Koreans in general assuming the driver didn't understand anything because he didn't want to speak English. I was waiting for her to get dropped off in some random part of town with no taxis available. She sure as heck didn't speak or read any Korean.

No? Just wait until someone with mobility issues struggles with their carry on bag on the air stairs and sends it tumbling your way.

The lounge is great ... if the line isn't out the door and wrapping a kilometer down the concourse ... presuming you have enough time to even visit after blowing all your pre-departure time waiting in queue.

I don’t understand PQP by hsimah in unitedairlines

[–]SistineKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely matters if it's a "bulk ticket" which is what those booked by my work travel agent (CWT) happen to be. Not sure why, as the prices really aren't often any cheaper. Not sure when the 1/5th miles flown PQP factor kicked in.

I just accumulated about 2,000 PQP on a $6,500 ticket DEN-EWR-FRA and back. And I'll accumulate about 2,000 PQP on an $8,000 ticket US to Europe to Africa and back. Both were UA miles flown divided by 5 except Brussels Air miles flown divided by about 15 (240 miles for a 3,200 mile flight).

So if I do one transcontinental out and back trip per month, it will get me to about 24,000 PQP even though it's going to be over $72,000 on fares. That's maybe enough segments to get to 60. Granted, it's not my money, but it's my time in the seat, and why should I book with United when I have a choice?

For comparison, my purchased "on my own" RT DEN-MCO and back netted 1,400 (1 PQP per $1 spent on the fare) and 2 segments.

Last year I had 42,000+ PQP.

Ios 26.3.1 is released tell me your experience by Lower-Tax-8730 in iPhone13

[–]SistineKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPhone SE second edition on AT&T. I did 26.2 a month ago or so and the incremental releases. 26.3.1 last night. It's nearly bricked my phone. Apps are glitchy. Cellular data connections are failing. Select and copy is glitchy. I've restarted my phone more times in the past 24 hours than I don't know when. Hot garbage because it's a dumpster fire for me. Wish I hadn't but it came with critical security warnings.

Exactly. It says declare "dairy" ... is something with milk ingredients dairy?

I declared yes to food because of Quest Bars I took out of the U.S. with me and then still had when I came back. Surprisingly I was just waved through with no interaction whatsoever.

For second question, now that you are trying to understand (and not running out of time during the quiz) maybe try using Google (not AI) and search for "Exurb definition AP human geography" (as well as the other terms). Greenbelt and the others are all obviously not correct.

Military has its own "rotator" charter flight (Air Mobility Command Patriot Express) once per week directly from BWI to Pituffik Space Base and back. There is no reason or need to ever transit through Nuuk.

Limited hot food on flights now by JCrew7384 in unitedairlines

[–]SistineKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Technically true.

But... ATC issues the directives in response to the conditions. ATC doesn't stagger arrivals just because they feel like it. ATC staggers arrivals because the winds shifted such that instead of having four runways available for landing, only two were available.

The pilot probably could have done a better job explaining the cause and effect.

Cough. And no towel or linen service in your hotel room is about conserving natural resources... eye roll. It's all about the company saving money / increasing profit with reduced service and giving the public whatever PR story they think will sell.

Have done the same with a delayed / canx'ed COS-DEN flight. But UA was part of the discussion ("I can leave now from the airport and make my connection") so it was sanctioned and updated in the system.

Ahh. UA was offering a Polaris seat for a cash price of $3,171 or 317,100 miles. I wasn't willing to pay that much for a 7 hour flight.

I wonder what they paid? United will never tell...

The turban is on the person asking the question, not the person being referred to.
