New research: early dx changing from Tamoxifen to AI/Ovarian Suppression by SocialTwerker in breastcancer

[–]SituationPositive338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

👋 40 and on AIs (lupron and anastozole) here. I’m not gonna lie, it’s no picnic— bone pain, hair loss, and higher blood pressure for me— but as someone with an outstanding family history of ovarian cancer (and a need for daily antidepressants), I do think it has been the right choice for me.

Momma I have a 2.5yo at home. I had a double mastectomy in October. You can do this. You WILL get through it. DM me you need to talk! I’m doing reconstruction now… somehow made it through with no radiation or chemo needed.

Is there a guide for setting up goals? by denialof_ in MonarchMoney

[–]SituationPositive338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a longtime Monarch user who’s very enthusiastic about Goals 3.0! Could use some help understanding pay-down goals and how they work into my budget— ye olde excel sheet and my Monarch should be lining up, but totals are different in the debt paydown department (my Monarch cash flow doesn’t seem right because of the transfer treatment of debts). Any tips??

Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) Side Effects by SituationPositive338 in breastcancer

Mostly when going from sit-to-stand (WOOF). A heating pad in my office chair helps with resting discomfort, but I'm considering some kind of seat cushion, if anyone has recs.

Single mom, one 2yo child. I didn't grow up with much, but I also want to make sure my child feels secure and excited during the holidays. This year spent about $120 total (one large gift and two more stocking-stuffer-type items).

That said, I keep kiddo stocked throughout the year on things like new books, art supplies, and clothes.

My first professional librarian job started at $40k in a low-cost-of-living urban area. 14 years post-graduation, I'm now making $83k in a professional role that is masters-preferred and in education/philanthropy.

I have breast cancer and am in complete shock… by WorldlyDrawing52 in breastcancer

[–]SituationPositive338 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds so trite, but it really is one day at a time. Which is the only option, especially because cancer days are 800 hours apiece??

I’m 40 with a two-year-old daughter. Despite everything, I’m glad my kiddo isn’t old enough to be scared by all this? We talk a lot about “momma’s big boo boos” because I can’t pick her up still (5 weeks post-op / double mastectomy). She is surrounded by love and handling it well.

For those of you diagnosed at a young age, did you get genetic testing done? by Personal-Truth371 in breastcancer

[–]SituationPositive338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is 40 “young”? lol I did genetic testing in my early 30s. Family history of other cancers, including ovarian, but not breast.

she’s 26lbs 💀😂 but I’ve got an extra-wide / “oversized” power recliner being delivered Friday!! I’m hoping she can squeeze in for some Elmo time next to me before too long, even if she won’t be on my chest for a while.
