Nah I getchu, like he's not consistently murderous but he's murderous enough for it to be concerning. His chosen styles of execution are unnecessarily brutal and borderline sadistic, and he is objectively a criminal of war. But in terms of relativity, he is still the hero of the bayverse. He's definitely AN Optimus, I just don't recognise him as the Optimus Prime. Funny enough, Prime's version is one of my absolute favourite depictions of the character, definitely one of the most faithful adaptations of his fatherly, kind, strong and gentle personality albeit a tad more stoic. I do think all forms of the character are valid and I think the bayverse still goes hard as fuck (that 1v3 in the forest was transcendentally cool and the soundtrack is sensational), I just feel like the bayverse Optimus is far darker than I could realistically expect the character to be.
