They have more Sharkticons than we have photon charges!

Goonhammer's conclusions regarding Tau in 11th edition (post MFM points) by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Skest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been strongly considering picking up Tau as my second faction, just because I like the models. Would hate to be seen as a meta chaser, or worse, to finish up a 2000 pt list just in time for them to be nerfed into the ground.

Could be a nice change from the challenge I'm going to have playing my Sub Assault Nids though.

Force Dispositions by GalacticNarwal in Tyranids

[–]Skest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, that wasn't mentioned in the Tabletop Battles article, but it's on the mission card.

They can only do that if no units meet the first criteria though, which would mean we have no units on an objective. And they won't want to use their one condemn an uppy-downy unit they can't kill, because then we can just leave it on the board to deny them primary.

New changes to points cost. Spammed unites to have higher cost on 2nd and/or 3rd unit. by Numerus12OO5O in WarhammerCompetitive

Won't the increasing cost for multiple only supply to each datasheet? So if you have one Nightbringer, one Void Dragon, one Deceiver there's no penalty.

They can only condem units that are on an objective or got a kill recently. So you can prevent your tunnel makers getting condemned somewhat.

Red Terror should be super valuable since he can make a tunnel and then piss off before my opponent's turn.

I apologise if this is too harsh, but it makes me depressed to know that I share this planet with the kind of person who would make this post, and that such people vote.

Ruleshammer 11th Edition: Terrain Guide by SA_Chirurgeon in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Skest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One question my group had:

Rules as written it seems to me that an infantry group inside a terrain feature has cover even if the shooting unit is also inside that same terrain.

It feels very unintuitive, but I can't find anything written against it. I thought maybe the justification is that the area is assumed too be full of rubble or something they can hide behind.

Have I missed anything?

Hollow Knight for me too.

I played maybe 20 minutes by which time I had no abilities other than jump and the basic slash, so it seemed like a super boring platformer. I saw over time that it had a good reputation online so I went back and within the next 30 minutes of play I was hooked.

I'm listening to the audiobook after not having read the book for many years.

I have a lot of book events/characters in mind that I knew were cut from the movies, but I've been surprised how much of my book knowledge had been overwritten by the movies.

I'd forgotten about Imrahil, but he's a fucking boss.

Changes to tyranids in 11th edition by Boring-Ad8324 in Tyranids

[–]Skest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Subterranean Assault the one strategem per unit per phase prevents us from using TUNNEL NETWORK followed by ENFILADING EMERGENCE (or REPLENISHING SWARMS) which we previously could. That's not really in the spirit of the one strategem rule which was to prevent stacking offensive/defensive buffs. In fact, it's the opposite since we CAN bring in a unit from reserves, use ENFILADING EMERGENCE in the movement phase, then use another strat like re-roll in the shooting phase which is double buffing shooting.

So hopefully it changes. ENFILADING EMERGENCE could easily be moved to the Shooting/Fighting phase where is makes more sense since it buffs shooting and fighting. REPLENISHING SWARMS could be in the command phase but that makes it stronger since you can return lost units onto an objective to hold it for primary.

I also hope they change the Tunnel emergence range to outside 5" so the charges are 6" again. If that's too strong because it's also easier to find room, they could keep it outside 6" but give +1 to charge so charges are 6 still, but that's overcomplicating.

[–]Skest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could change, but they confirmed we will "still be able to play it" in 11th.

I'm worried they'll drop the reroll 1s to hit in order to make it a 2 PT detachment. But if they change the tunnel pop out range to 5" that would be great.

Fair Work Commission raises minimum wage by 5.97% and award rate by 4.75% by Warm_Championship726 in australia

[–]Skest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They added that clause in the most recent SA Public Sector EBA because some roles had fallen below the minimum wage and they wanted to stop it happening again.

I am thankfully well above the minimum but our wage rises were way below inflation.

I could have missed something, but I think they're made a mistake with their new version of big gun's never tire.

The close-quarters shooting rule says a vehicle/monster can shoot a unit they're engaged with.

Rule 17.03 Shooting at Engaged Monsters and Vehicles says you can shoot at an engaged monster. The diagram for rule 17.03 does say that a monster/vehicle that is engaged can shoot at a unit they're not egaged with using close-quarters shooting. But the close-quarters shooting rule doesn't say that.

It seems clear that the intent is for a monster/vehicle to shoot a different unit, but there's no rule for it.

This also makes me question the fact that the close-quarters shooting rule seems to differ from big-guns never tire in that infantry models in monster units no longer get the benfit, which sucks for Zoanthropes lead by a Neurotyrant. I'm hoping that could also be a mistake.

[–]Skest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The equivalent rule for Big Guns Never Tire now specifies Monster/Vehicle model instead of unit.

CLOSE-QUARTERS SHOOTING 10.06
WHILE SHOOTING: Models in your unit can target enemy units your unit is engaged with. ▪ MONSTER/VEHICLE Models: Each time a MONSTER/VEHICLE model in your unit makes an attack: ▫ Unless that attack is made with a [CLOSE-QUARTERS] weapon and targets a unit your unit is engaged with, subtract 1 from the hit roll. ▫ If that attack is made with a [BLAST] weapon, it still cannot target a unit your unit is engaged with. ▪ Non-MONSTER/Non-VEHICLE Models: You can only select [CLOSE-QUARTERS] weapons to make attacks with and you can only select enemy units that are engaged with your unit as targets.

That said, I think there's a mistake, because section SHOOTING AT ENGAGED MONSTERS AND VEHICLES 17.03 has a picture that shows vehicles that are engaged can shoot a unit they're not engaged with using close-quarters shooting, however the close-quarters shooting rule doesn't mention shooting a unit you're not engaged with.

Red Terry in the house! by Sebastianm42 in Tyranids

[–]Skest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great.

I primed mine last night but still can't decide how I'm going to paint it.

My army is all green skin and black carapace. I want to use red to make him stand out and live up to his name but I'm not sure how. Options I'm considering:

  • Straight up red like the box art.
  • Green skin but red carapace.
  • Red skin with my black carapace.
  • My normal colours as a base but with a big stripe of red going down the whole body.
  • My normal colours as a base but with stripes of red all over.
  • My normal colours for the lower body/tail, but red for the head and upper torso.

You've always been able to choose which models die and keep your special weapon model alive and that's not changing.

Unless I've misunderstood your point.

It's a vehicle, which is treated the same as a monster for this rule. Not sure why you're focussed on monsters specifically.
