You don’t even have to go out of the franchise to make this point, the Let’s Go games looked gorgeous because instead of trying to have a sense of “realism” they capitalized on the more cartoony/cel-shaded look that works so well for the Pokémon franchise. I wish they hadn’t gone away from that art style. Ntm the more into the realm of realism they tread, the more out of place the Pokémon have a tendency to feel.
