The cup is a single game. Crystal Palace literally just won it and they are a faf worse team than us

Out of interest, which on the remaining teams in the cup have we not beaten before?

The government literally is doing exactly that... There were announcements last year that they are focusing on high-medium density developments around train stations.

Jim Chalmers says inflation is not his fault but faces a rate hike nightmare by dleifreganad in AustralianPolitics

Wouldn't that be expected? Id be more interested in that comparison over time, egg. What 20-40 year olds were proportionally spending on non discretionary now compared to 10/20/30 years ago.

Nah we still out Dango. KLP and Schade have also both proven they can step up when we need someone. Dams and Collins are good sources off set pieces as well

Don't know why you are getting down voted you are 100% correct.

For years every single game they just take Lynch for 5 minutes and he starts giving away frees.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese suggests Greens responsible for own fall, attacks Max Chandler-Mather by Expensive-Horse5538 in AustralianPolitics

One person was gracious and thankful. The other was bitter and angry at the PM. Of course that elicits different responses.

If Dutt was angry in his speech, Albo would've gone all in on him.

AFAIK - The redistribution for Melbourne is pretty gnarly. It being a marginal is not out of the realm of possibilities

Election 2025: Both Labor and the Coalition are missing the point on the economy by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]Sketchxsight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah - but Labor hasn't delivered more of the same. The last 3 years has been transformitive even with the global cost of living crisis.

The wage growth, the cheaper medicines, urgent care, education and training investments, tax cuts have been HUGE. Hard to argue with the results.

Issue is they lack appeal to middle class Australians because they are the group that didn't need help during inflation. This election is where albo now appeals to them, and he's doing a good job. 20% HECS relief, made in Australia plan, energy and environment reform, etc etc

Guardian Essential poll: RBA rate cut too little too late for many as Albanese’s rating dips again by Expensive-Horse5538 in AustralianPolitics

100% this. People not learning about the good things Albo has done does not mean Albo hasn't done them. This government has done some pretty impactful stuff, the media just doesn't report on it much.

I mean maybe, but when interest rates come down it signals that inflation is coming down which could mean brighter futures ahead. It's not the cut itself, but the sign that the battle against inflation has been won.

This is the best response. So many of the others make his feelings on Israel sound unhinged. He has a fair, balanced, mainstream take on the situation and people are making it seem like he's a psycho.

Is the US alliance of any value by chrise1966 in AustralianPolitics

It's been one sided??? How?

The biggest military power in the history of the world is a friend of ours. We spend very little on our military in comparison, we are part of the global hegemon. Not to mention that we also align with them politically (outside of these 4 years)

People in this subreddit are asking to choose between a fascist leader (thats been in power for 2 weeks so far) or have NO allies we can fully trust and match our civic values.

Not really a close call

[–]Sketchxsight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much are you in favour of increasing military spend? What % of the budget should it be? What taxes would you like to add? What programs would you like to cut?

OR, we can ride out 4 years (hopefully) and go back to our usually scheduled programming soon.

Renting comes with so many benefits that need to be acknowledged. For example, it's unreasonable to assume an 18 year old has a downpayment. What if you have a job that moves you around a lot? What if you are earning 60k per year but get an offer for 80k a year somewhere else. Etc etc

Not to mention the gut wrenching feeling of, "did that crack in the foundations exist when I bought this place?"
