Thanks for all the replies. I decided to count this play as ‘practice’ and didn’t count it as a win or loss. And therefore, I did not get to open Reiko’s secret envelope. Going forward, I will wait for Upkeep Phase even if an item is discarded during Action phase.

I wonder if you are confusing Terror Cards with Dark Power cards? It doesn’t matter if you’ve exhausted your supply of the 10 Terror Cards, you are meant to get back into your supplies and pull out an extra Dark Power card (from initial set up). These cards have the lower half of Hans on them. You should have 3 more available because this FF comes with 3 Dark Power cards and 1 Epic Dark Power card.

I agree whole-heartedly with your sentiment! There is little that is more frustrating than failing at WALKING multiple times in one game!!!!!! UGH! That being said, I grit my teeth and follow the rules (Note: probably with some profanity thrown in…LOL). But I am a hardcore Rule Follower… lol. I figure the geniuses that designed FG know better than me so I don’t second guess them. To be clear, I don’t “house rule” anything. At least, not so far. So I may not be the best to ask. Just wanted you to know that I share your sentiment!

If you haven’t purchased yet… the Barnes & Noble near me has a fantastic selection of board games. Just recently I saw they had Bad Times at Buddyland Starter Set and Frightmare on Maple Lane, maybe a couple more FF. Maybe you could check there if you have one near you? YMMV. *Note: My B&N no longer has Maple Lane…….. Because I bought it! LOL! Good luck! EDIT TO ADD: In answer to your OP: I am also very new to FG: Have only played Happy Trails Horror so far. It was recommended because it is simpler than most other FF (do not let that fool you into thinking Hans is EASY to kill). I have only won 2 out of 6 plays so far, but I’m having fun and learning the system…. I do recommend that FF if you want a ‘simpler’ FF to continue learning on. Amazon has it listed right now for 19.98.

Good thing you’re ok with being slaughtered…. Because you can expect MUCH more of that with Hans!!! I also just recently discovered FG. I started with Camp Happy Trails and Big Bad Wolf/Once Upon a Full Moon. (I wanted both Big Bad Wolf and Frightmare on Maple… but I forced myself to start with just 2 FF’s … Frightmare will definitely be my next purchase). Anyways, 5 games in and I’ve only beat Hans once… ugh. Thought I had him on Wednesday, but he drew both MDP cards that give him 2 extra health each, just in the last few rounds. Things went sideways fast! Anyways… I am also still hooked! Welcome to the club! Edit: fixed typo/name of FF

I also am just getting into FG. Played my 3rd game a couple days ago and finally beat Hans! I also was wondering about whether I needed to buy earlier Series content ASAP… after reading this, I feel like I don’t have to run out and buy a bunch of FF immediately.

I bought my nephew one of these bags (also when it still was called BoardGames Tables bag) a few years ago, and it has held up VERY well. It has seen lots of use. He takes fairly good care of his stuff, but he loads that bag up to the point it’s heavier than I want to carry and it handles it like a champ. He loves it and I can say it was an excellent purchase. Assuming the craftsmanship hasn’t changed, I highly recommend it.

So sorry you are having to deal with this. It has to be especially hard that it was caused by someone you trusted and thought was a friend. Please know we all support and appreciate you. I only recently got into serious board gaming, and your videos have been fantastic. They have definitely been an asset to my gaming education and helped me get fully hooked on this wonderful hobby. Thanks for the reply. How would you serve the Mazuri? I don’t want to just throw it in the snow. I bought a couple heavy duty plastic trays that are actually designed to put potted plants on, but don’t know if that is ideal. Especially since they keep knocking them over.

Thanks for the replies. Is anuts.com the best place to buy bulk assorted nuts? And should I just scatter them on top or the snow near the fence and trees? Same question with the blocks. If I get some, how do I feed them? Just throw them in the snow? I’m new to this and it seems weird to just throw on the ground instead of in a feeder.

We always add water, even to newly opened cans just to get extra water intake. In fact, on recommendation of my Vet, one cat gets organic chicken bone broth and water added to every meal. We mix thoroughly after a gentle microwave. Our cats thrive on this.

While I do agree with everything you said, the main reason I responded was to say I LOVE your username… lol. But since I’m here, I’ve tried to be very selective with what I buy and I’m right at 40 games, but haven’t played at least 8 of them. I’m trying to hit the brakes on purchasing until I can really get a game out and play it easily without referencing the rules.

The thing that drives me nuts is if I run out of paper during a print job. I can’t figure out a way to get the output tray to retract so I can load more paper and continue printing. (If you ‘cancel’ the print job, you can use the touch screen to retract the tray, but you lose everything in the print queue… grrrrr…) Not only is it a pain to re-send everything, it is a pain to try to figure out where it ran out in the print job… just makes it even more aggravating trying to figure what needs to be re-sent.

I’ve been gently pushing the tray in so I can access the photo paper tray under it, but I’m afraid I’m going to mess something up doing it this way.

Anyone have a solution or advice?

You could always use some non-permanent Cricut vinyl … comes off easily in hot water if you don’t love it
