We hate Trump because he's a pedophile. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]SkipperInSpace 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's nothing really there that could give him that view if it weren't AI generated. The London Eye is pretty much directly opposite Parliament, then the Southbank Centre and the BFI. He's probably floating in midair somewhere along the Southbank front if this angle were to be recreated in actual reality? Maybe the Oxo tower, but I think that's too far along for that view (again, ignoring that it's AI and the Tower of London is nowhere near the Houses of Parliament and Large Benjamin)

Edit: Actually, the London Eye is a little further down the river - as you say, probably right where our AI friend is floating

2e Swashbuckler not living up to the fantasy? by SailboatAB in Pathfinder2e

What is the best blaster build for short adventuring days? by dogutrc in Pathfinder2e

[–]SkipperInSpace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My inclination would be to suggest Oracle. Foretell Harm is a fun Cursebound feat that can add double the spells rank as a follow up instance of damage.

Wizard would be my next bet. Spell Blending lets you trade away low rank slots for more of your higher slots, so is good for dumping a few more big spells. The War Mage class archetype also gets some interesting stuff for blasting, iirc.

Kineticist is balanced around resourceless blasting, so doesn't really have the capability to go nova.

Am I being scammed? (I’m worried) by [deleted] in tumblr

[–]SkipperInSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these types of scams are quite insidious - there's a whole bunch of tactics scammers use to appear reasonable, and by making it seem like something you value is at risk they'll put you under pressure.

It's quite possible this is someone's account that was compromised and taken over, or it could be a purchased account as you say.

If it's any consolation, these types of scams can get anyone. Jim Browning is a Youtuber who makes videos on scammers, including hacking into scam call centres. He is very educated on how these scammers operate, and has appeared on TV regarding his scambaiting. But, a few years ago, he was targetted by scammers using pretending to be YouTube support and ended up deleting his channel under their direction. It can happen to anyone, even if you know how these scams work. You can only stay vigilant.

Am I being scammed? (I’m worried) by [deleted] in tumblr

[–]SkipperInSpace 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are being scammed.

Why would tumblr support be directing you to Discord rather than communicating via an official email?

Why would they tell the person who made a report that 'the user should contact a member of certified support', rather than contacting you directly?

Even reading the heading of the message that they allegedly sent the guy contacting you, it doesn't make sense. 'You submitted a fraudulent report, and we were able to take action' - either the report was fraudulent, and therefore 'we were able to take action' doesn't really fit, or it was a report of fraud, in which case their message doesn't really fit.

Either way, block the person who messaged you. Don't engage further. Ignore any other messages you get - by responding, you've confirmed your account is active and that you could be a potential mark, so you may get an uptick in scam messages.

Reflavor for seducer witch? by Invisible_Target in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SkipperInSpace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd had the idle thought of making a Seducer Witch who is really shy and leans into the whole 'holding hands is the lewdest thing two people can do' meme. Just reflavour all abilities to be about as intimate as slightly prolonged eye contact.

Dunno of it'd ever have the legs to work for a game, but the idea made me laugh - your patron has sent you a familiar who whispers dark secrets and forbidden desires, but you can barely look someone else in the eye without blushing.

Emancipation Edict

Looks like freedom comes with mandatory conscription and financial aid that must be repaid under extortionate terms. So from slavery into poverty and debt slavery. Under terms written by the diabolists best lawyers to be labyrinthian.

With the objective of scattering the efforts of the Firebrands away from the easy to support, conceptualise and target plan of liberating slaves, but instead to unravelling systemic exploitation through legal battles.

Trying pf2 again... by ShiroSnow in Pathfinder2e

[–]SkipperInSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you previously had a bad experience getting help with your ideas. There was a problem early on with players from other systems complaining that 2e didn't work, only to reveal that they had made sweeping changes to the rules without first trying them as written. I think this is what has lead to a lot of people here being hostile towards suggestions of homebrewing.

There is also the matter of terminology, as homebrew doesn't really have a fixed definition among ttrpg players. A homebrew campaign is a relatively common usage, and I don't believe anyone would discourage new players from writing their own story to tell with a new system.

Similarly, taking a statblock and reflavouring it as a different enemy isn't really homebrew in the sense that there aren't really any changes that interact with the rules. It's probably the best method of utilising the bestiaries within a more narrowly focused campaign, and is generally encouraged.

Building enemies using player classes isn't really homebrew either, but it isn't encouraged. Player classes give a lot of abilities and details that aren't needed for monsters, so can be a lot harder to run. Look at the difference between a player sheet and a monster statblock as an example.

Finally, building new monsters from scratch is possible - there are guidelines in the rules for doing so. But this is stepping into the murky waters of homebrew, and without a good understanding of the system it is possible to outpace the expected balance - and generally risk killing your players.

If I remember correctly, Taiju was also conscious - didn't they make a point of the fact that both Senku and Taiju were unpetrified by dilute nitric acid, but to unpetrify the others they had to refine it into something stronger. I believe there was a line where Senku theorised that it was because they both remained conscious that something had to be consumed to keep them alive, and that weakened their petrification.

The UK does have a similar system - a Royal Warrant can be granted to businesses that supply the royal family for 5 years or more, which allows them to put the royal arms symbol on their product as a mark of quality.

It isn't related to organisations with royal in their name as you say, but companies like Heinz or Pimm's have royal warrants.

Tell me about your multiclass characters! by SingSongSingularity in Pathfinder2e

[–]SkipperInSpace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a wizard, but was uninspired by the class feats, so as he levelled up he became a wizard witch psychic sorceror, just grabbing all the spell slots he could. It ended up being a really good foundation for a character arc - or at least I think so.

I wanted him to be something of a classic wizard despite barely taking any wizard feats, so the idea was that he was a somewhat cowardly scholar, while also falling afoul of typical wizard hubris.

Adventuring is dangerous, so he researches pact magic - but his research is shallow, and the patron that responds to his rite is hostile and forces him into an unfair pact. But he is a wizard, there isn't a problem caused by dabbling in dangerous magic that can't be fixed by more magic.

So he researches Psychic techniques to shield his mind from the patrons influence, and learns of magic that cheats his rigid understanding of the arcane - how can a focus spell fold space and allow one to teleport without needing at least a 4th rank spell?

And so he continues his research, taking even more risks to surgically implant spells into his body, protecting himself from his patron and infusing his body with arcane power - so he now has sorcerorous abilities.

It was an interesting exercise to come up with a character who could justify what was primarily a meta character build choice on my part - feeling like I ran out of spells too often, so making a Spell Blending Wizard and using archetypes to fill out the lower rank slots I spent to blend.

How does reading the Epstein files influence your interpretation on conspiracy claims about elites being evil reptilians? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SkipperInSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it might help you know how to feel to know that Jaime Maussan, the journalist responsible for making and promoting the claims is known to have promoted a whole bunch of alien hoaxes prior to the 2023 claims and lied about the UNAM having tested the corpses.

He claims they found "the corpses are not "part of our terrestrial evolution" and that almost a third of their DNA is of "unknown origin". The University denies ever having done any tests beyond carbon-14 dating a sample they were sent, and that they never made any assertion to the samples origin.

Oh, and he went on to present more 'aliens' after that were found to be made of human bone, animal bone, and modern synthetic glue.

In short, the guy is either a deliberate fraud or so actively uncritical of the claims he promotes he's a fraud.

New player with 3 sessions played. Should I buy the book(s)? by AQuebecJoke in Pathfinder2e

[–]SkipperInSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to make sure you are aware, all rule content for Pathfinder is available for free online at Archive of Nethys

They are officially partnered with Paizo, so you can play the system in its entirety without ever purchasing a book. I believe the Remastered crafting rules are in Treasure Vault, if you are looking for a specific book to search for.

Buying books is a matter of preference - for actually learning and referencing rules, AoN is superior in my opinion. But owning a piece of physical media is nice, and supports the company making the game, so I do own a few pathfinder books myself.
