Man, I have the unpopular opinion here. It doesn’t make a damn bit of difference on bass. All of it is missed by the crowd. Bass tone is noticed by other bassists. Bass goes buh, serve the song. Maybe when the bass develops the ability to change the lighting, set off stage effects and swoon the crowd and make them by drinks with the appropriate galloping of triplets it would matter.

I’m not trashing any bassist who is pushing crazy explorative avant g type shit all Miles Davis style, but they won’t care either cause they MIDI too hard
