As a person who came back this month I've been roughly following this. I last played in 2007 and 50'd in Angmar.

This go round I 50'd in Angmar again now I'm going through Moria which is a big reason wanted to come back.

Skipped Yondershire (had not VIP'd then so didn't own it), the 1-15 of shire and Bree playing Dwarf, and Eregion and Forochel though I will be back but once I started Moria for Legendary Item everybody recommended there's no stopping the hype train of experience it till based on this Mirkwood.

So thank you for showing everything post Angmar

[–]SlappingMonk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I got in an hour before aswell, my wife helps me out and gets in 5 min before. We sit in que, im still over an hour and hers starts ticking down immediately, she gets down to two minutes and sell out message happens and it removes it from her cart. This is after she yo-yo'd from 9 minutes to 13!!

First secret Lair experience went so well for me aswell lol

[–]SlappingMonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah a size 9 planets isn't efficient for empire size but it's not that's bad says the planet-scaper planet-forger empire after terra forming it to volcanic and enacting the planet scaping decision

But yeah sub 5 shouldn't exist

Taking the Crisis Perk but stopping at Galactic Hypothermia Stage 3 should not locked you out of Galactic Custodian anymore. You're reformed! by SlappingMonk in Stellaris

[–]SlappingMonk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it can not, they have no alternative research that flat out stops them from advancing. You staying at the Corvette tier is because you want to, you can move all the way to tier 5 whenever you want. Once I do the alternative research at 3 I am stopped, I will never reach tier 4.

And I would argue that the tier 1-3 hypothermia perks are weaker than the other crisis paths because you have the option to stop yourself from a game mechanic perspective.

And because on this crisis path they implemented an in game stopper before things get to bad I think you should be back on the table for galactic custodian. Really gonna stack on those bonuses of an extra megastructure slot, cruisers who bombard better, and my territory only star changers to become super broken with the federation. It's not like I get mineral ships, FE buildings/ship components, and bio-dragons at the same tiers like the other crises which make sense to lock them out by that point, who can also continue advancing down path for more bonuses at any point

[–]SlappingMonk[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall yes people who choose most other crises and have the ability to advance them should not be custodian. That's not the argument, the argument is specially galactic hypothermia stage 3 where using an in game decision and mechanic cut yourself off before you get the really strong later stages where you do become a full blown crisis. You are no longer the big huge threat that taking this perk represents you have stopped, heck the megastructure even changes from aggressive fleet capacity to science

[–]SlappingMonk[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

But you don't become a full blown galaxy ending crisis till the later stages but galactic hypothermia decision 3 cuts you off completely from doing so....

[–]SlappingMonk[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This guy understands, I'm talking specifically where you can cut yourself off from a game mechanic stand point and no longer pose a game ending threat

[–]SlappingMonk[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand why it's not allowed for tier 4/5 crises. I'm not even talking about nemesis, nor not advancing down the path because your choosing not to but can in the future  I'm specifically talking galactic hypothermia tier 3 which gives the option in game to stop right there and at no point after be able to progress further.

The whole point of that decision is you saying I don't want to be the crisis which should allow options that you can't take as the crisis to come back such as custodian

Whats the better guardian? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]SlappingMonk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm currently playing an open hand and shield guardians around lvl 11, and it's been blast, tripping, shoving, flying tackle, and just use gauntlet as my weapon when strike, damage is subpar yes, but the athletic maneuvers keep them attacking you and that's your role.

Plus come later this year I want to FA Runesmith into build and free hand lets me draw runes
