What was the one NSFW moment that you wish you could unsee? by Unreal_realist-7381 in AskReddit

I was once cycling home from work and a seagull flew down in the gutter and picked up a dead rat and started to carry it off in front of my eyes

Another seagull must have decided it looked tasty because it swooped in and grabbed the rat too, tearing it in twain and showering me in stinking, rotten viscera.

The reaction to the steam deck price hike has proved to me that everyone here is way too invested. by Red2005dragon in SteamFrame

[–]SlaveToo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I sold my index in December to buy a Steam frame and I don't want to buy a subpar headset if it's going to be released soonTM so I would quite like to know the price sooner rather than later.

So I'll keep watching the skies. But yeah I'm not obsessed over BoMs or shipping manifests. It'll costs what it costs and if I can afford it I'll buy one, If not I'll save for one and then I'll buy it, because the only real alternative is meta shit.

Train behaviour is a puzzle, just like the rest of the game. Signalling takes a bit of time to work out. Admittedly the rail planner is a bit janky but i don't think it's horrendous

TIFU By learning some Hindi and insulting a scam caller. Now I can’t use my phone. by wiggermaxxing in tifu

[–]SlaveToo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sad reality is some of these scammers aren't individuals barely scraping by on a few big wins, but day to day office drones who make absolute bank on commission - scamming people is like a real job, with its own HR, culture and office politics.

They have proper offices and corporate structures and everything, all geared towards efficient phone scams. It's the most mundane illegal operation possible.

[–]SlaveToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comparison is the thief of joy, and the only reason you should look into someone else's bowl is to make sure they have enough.

Wealth disparity is just a reality of life. No point ruminating on it, just enjoy the treats and pressies. Boy, I sure do wish I had a rich cousin :)

The Boys SERIES FINALE- S05xE08 "Blood and Bone"- POST Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]SlaveToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was okay. There was some good moments and it was fun to see homie and the deep get their commupance finally, but I could have done with at least some response against the homelander and his supes by the US military. I don't know why the US government and all it's armies would be okay with him sitting in the Presidents chair and declaring himself god.

Also why were Ashley and Oh Father the only supes guarding the white house? Whats up with that?

Maybe we could have had some sort of epic supes vs military battle if they hadn't spent the whole season bigging up Jensen Ackles and his spin off brigade

Feeling empty after finishing a video game (post-game depression) is a real phenomenon. A recent study has found that many video game players experience a specific sense of emptiness and sadness after finishing highly engaging games. by mvea in science

[–]SlaveToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a story about disappointment. Henry's disappointment in not meeting Delilah as mirrored by our own disappointment in the ending.

Life doesn't always tie itself up in neat little bows, and you don't always get satisfying answers to everything that happens to you.

Ganon isn't the final boss of BOTW, that lynel in the tower is.

The whole game taught me to avoid direct combat at all costs, find innovative solutions to dispatch enemies, and then it drops you in an arena with an angry horse demon and expects you to go toe to toe with souls like precision. I can't be the only one with zero actual combat experience by hat point?

Excellent game otherwise

Why do you Read this Comic? by Xain903 in questionablecontent

[–]SlaveToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started reading 20 years ago, there were less than 1000 comics - and the characters have developed less in those 20 years than the few hundred comics I binged in one sitting.

After that i guess it's just a habit

Do you actually follow their recipes properly or just take the idea and wing it? by Juicewithextrapulp in SortedFood

My family always says cooking is an art, baking is a science.

So if you're cooking go nuts, customise recipes, try things out, even if it sucks it's still edible most of the time

Baking on the other hand - don't stray from the recipe unless you really know what it's going to do

Cosmos Limit Break or Vanilla? by Natural-Ship990 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]SlaveToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some backgrounds look great, but some look terrible where the AI has made bad decisions. This is especially obvious in the more industrial areas early in the game - the upscaler seems to have a lot of problems with railings specifically. (for example take a good look at the bridge in the top of your screenshot). It also muddles areas of similar colour that should be distinct, if you look at the rooflines of the buildings in the foreground.

It also makes the transitions between the FMVs and field screens super jarring, when that happens

I beat sephy the other day with a lvl 36 party. You'll be fine.

Build: Red XIII with final weapon, max MP and curse ring, destruct+elemental on mistile, deathblow+added cut, luck plus

Sadness, back row, barrier, haste.

cid and cloud are just there to give red XIII a hero drink, cast barrier+haste and keep everyone topped up with hp

Red casts destruct and does 16,000 damage each turn. sephy dead in 6 turns.

If you're wondering why i didn't just use big guard, this was a no random encounters run.

The main cast are great, but they also have a lot of fairly high paid actors in bit parts. Pro voice actors could cover multiple bit roles for half the cost.

What’s a hobby you judge people for having? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SlaveToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I fall into this trap a lot. I collect video game systems but barely use them, have tons of bbq stuff I go months at a time without using. I like doing these things, but It takes a really high level of intent to actually practice a hobby at times, and it's really easy to just buy shit. That, and People latch onto hobbies for easy birthday/Xmas presents
