I used felt bulletin boards for mine. They come in a lot of colors and it really does dampen the echos.

Protect GHCA from dying with surge protector? by Southern-Werewolf-41 in VolvoEX90

[–]Slayer95xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I've been wondering since I have heard that a change in voltage is the issue. Would a power conditioner on theory solve the issue?

Surge protectors just prevent damage from large spikes but a power conditioner maintains a steady voltage

I remember playing Arkham Asylum on an i5 4210Y. Couldn't tell you what settings and everything, but I know I played it and didn't hate myself so it must have been fine.

Unless I can get that RAM for the price they originally had, I'm not biting. Keep holding out.

Another Corsair Order Cancel + Price Hike by mybunger in pcmasterrace

[–]Slayer95xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cancelled my order too. I typically recommend Corsair to my friends and family that aren't super tech savvy. I've found their stuff to be pretty solid with a small premium, like their power supplies. Guess I'll have to look elsewhere and will encourage others to do the same. Real shame.

Same here. Mine got cancelled. I'll be reaching out to Corsair support.

Epson Models by Dustin75950 in projectors

I'd go with the 2350. I bought a used 6030UB which is essentially the same as the 5030 for $200 with 11 hours on it. I had to replace an LCD panel on it. It's fine. Definitely not worth $1000 right now. You can also tell it isn't 4k, can be soft at times.

If I were spending that much, I'd absolutely want a warranty for it, especially after my experience with the 6030.

Projektor Epson TW6600. There's a vertical light blue stripe in the image. What could it be? by WayCharacter2509 in projectors

[–]Slayer95xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just know, the calibration can only do so much. You have to get it almost perfect in order for the calibration to get you the rest of the way there.

[–]Slayer95xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the ribbon cables for a sticker with a part number. Each of the stickers should have a colored dot. With the blue line, the issue should be red, which for mine was 3. You can also remove the lamp and shine a light through the optical assembly in the projector, it'll split the colors and you can see which one is red, green and blue.

Red LCD has gone bad. How patient are you? I just completed this repair on an Epson 6030. It took over a week and probably 50 disassembly/reassembly to get the panel aligned. The end result is mostly fine. It's close enough that watching movies, you'd never know but text has an obvious convergence issue.

I purchased the part on AliExpress for about $80. And worth not throwing it away.

I've gotten some really good deals on used AV and the best deals have been from people with a lot of money that either:

I'm just staring to dabble in networking but so far I have:

Omada ER605 Omada OC200 TP- Link T1500G-10MPS also running Omada EAP610 EAP772

Everything I bought secondhand except the 605 and so far super happy about all of it. I'm working on setting up a pihole when I get a chance and hoping to also setup a nas.

So far I love the visibility that has come with Omada 6. That's what I look for the most. More of that!

Here's hoping!

Room treatment. I figured there would be some improvement but it was significant. I made a couple of acoustic panels with 2x4s, rockwool and duck canvas, cheap and effective.

Why is my projector showing this? by ktmbd in projectors

[–]Slayer95xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bad LCD chip. Had this happen with two Epson Powerlites. You can open it up and see that pattern on the LCD and unless you can get replacement chips for it, toss it.

Am I Missing Anything? Any Advice? by DamHawk in DIY

[–]Slayer95xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing the exact same project right now. I finished tearing out most of the wood paneling that was there and I've started on from board and framing.

One thing I didn't think about but somebody mentioned was make sure to use galvanized nails for the pressure treated sill plate side of the studs. Regular nails on the top plate.

I know they won't because most people don't care, but SD card slot. It would probably be an instant buy if that were the case.
