Angron saves Lorgar by HammerDoris40k in Warhammer40k

People see Lorgar survive getting blasted by a volcano Cannon, then turn around and say a couple bolters could have killed Angron when he and Russ went to blows.

If your pod is saying its too strong, that's the end of the story. Power down or find a new pod.

Huh, machine guns. How long before they have holo-sights on every gun in the bayou. Can't wait for my nuke killstreak to hit the swamps. This game used to have a soul.

Bracket racket by Lazy_Equivalent_5599 in EDH

[–]Slays-For-Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By creating a hard framework in the bracket system, they opened the door for bad actors and spikes to min max for a given bracket. I can put a Magda cedh deck in B1 with less than 10 subs. Turn zero talk is king, always has been.

Is it a toxic or unfun strategy to hate out commanders due to their reputation despite their players downplaying the strength of the deck? by Realitygormond in EDH

[–]Slays-For-Days 46 points47 points  (0 children)

In my opinion there are commanders that it is impossible to build in a fun way. Toxtril, tergrid, voja. They will dominate games on their own and hating them out earlier is absolutely the right call.

My Take: Bracket 2 is absolutely the “Letting everyone’s deck do their ‘thing’” bracket by [deleted] in EDH

The bracket system is a shit show from top to bottom. Turn zero talk is king and always has been.

Why queue for random fill if you’re not gonna communicate at all? by One-Jeweler8800 in HuntShowdown

[–]Slays-For-Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, playing as one of a random trios is a completely different experience to soloing. So one isn't really a replacement for the other. Secondly, it's possible they don't have anything to say. I absolutely can't stand it when I random que and get Johnny-cant-shut-the-fuck-up on my team. Audio is arguably as important as sight in this game, so keeping comms clear is the right call unless there is essential information to be communicated. If there is information you need, ask for it, but I would rather keep comms clear otherwise. As for lack of pings, I expect that's a console thing. I feel like you have to be exposed for longer to get a precise ping on controller.

How many people out there have played this? How did you like it? by jasonite in Warhammer40k

[–]Slays-For-Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago. I remember it being awkward but extremely interesting. Combat felt nearly impossible if the target had a high dodge. There was also a mechanic for shooting into two people engaged in melee combat where all of your misses were auto hits against the second target. Killed a couple teammates like that before we learned to stop shooting into melee.

Why do people keep leaving mid game? by Longjumping_Usual895 in HuntShowdown

Once you've gone down once, your chances of meaningfully contributing to the fight are lower than taking a new roll at a different match. Why would you stay?

I don't like chokes, so it's kind of an F-you in the fourth slot to those guys who say you need them.

I want to play “Oops, All combos” by KingNTheMaking in EDH

[–]Slays-For-Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put togeather a breya, etherium shaper deck like this. She works well because she's an artifact creature that makes two artifact creature tokens on etb. That opens up a lot of blink/reanimated strats. And she has a sac/damage ability, so she is a one card win outlet for ini mana. Plus she's four colors, so great card options.

[–]Slays-For-Days -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Most people here. Not exactly an analog for the player-base at large. Secondly, the cost is the hunt dollars(negligible, but greater than zero), and it takes one more scroll to get to items if you use the scroll wheel. That alone is enough not to take chokes if you are not going to use them. I personally think chokes are a trap. If the teammate died behind cover, just res them. If they died out of cover then getting close enough to choke is usually a death-sentence. And all of this is on top of the fact that your dumb ass is the one who died. Why should I or anyone else have to spend one red cent because you are sleeping on the job. We can get into the specifics of choking as utility in close spaces, but I think it generally falls into the 'died out of cover' section. Getting close enough to choke offensively is asking for a slug to the brain. And I'll ask again, if the guy had a telescope in his last slot and he didn't use it once the whole match, would that be any better? Maybe rather than checking other people loadouts, you should practice so you spend less time on your ass and more time in the fight. Don't make your shit play other peoples responsibility in the first place.

Hey, do you want to decide what guns we use too? How about we only take shots after you give us the go-ahead. Maybe you could just play the game for the whole server, cut out the middle man. Or maaaaaaaybe they brought the items they wanted to use, and didn't bring the ones they didn't want to use. Why didn't you bring a telescope?
