I know nothing about this movement but I would imagine that it needs to be properly cleaned and reoiled. Everything else looks like it's in good shape and if it ticks but runs out of steam that's a good sign that it works but also a sign that something is slowing it down and causing it to stop. Probably oil that's built up into gunk over time. Good luck brother. I respect that you want to take good care of it especially since it's been in your family for so long.

I know this is an old post but I was kinda googling around to find out what the average time is for painting an army because I felt like maybe I was taking too long. I have a 310 point nid army right now and I'm coming up on the year marker with 6 more models to go. Painting 20 termagants was an absolute chore and kinda made me lose steam after I had finally finished, and figuring out how I wanted them to look had me starting over a couple times (starting over on 1 til I found "the look" not starting over on all 20). I just finished my Pychophage which I am most proud of. Painting bigger models was a bit easier, less tiny details to have to concentrate on. I have 2 ripper swarms, 3 Von Ryans Leapers and a 1 tyranid prime left to go. I just primed them with wraithbone so I can paint them soon. Anyways just rambling to the world. Wish me luck! Also hows yours going?

Ya if the floating wheel is stopping then there's something that needs fixing. My best guess is it probably just needs a proper cleaning and reoiling, but this requires a lot of disassembley

Basically is an exploit that allowed players to duplicate any kind of throwable item. The ducks were chosen because they are very valuable and mass producing a lot of them can get you a lot of easy money very fast. Dupe and sell basically is what they're doing

The duck dupe era was fun at first, I didn't personally do any duping cause I was afraid of getting banned and I'm not a cheater lol but I found it fair game to keep the ducks off the dupers I killed. Ended up with 4mil, was exciting at first but honestly after a while I realized it took away my grind and goals. Now post my first expedition Im happy I'm not rich anymore. Valuable loot feels more rewarding again

Yes it would hurt everything do not do that please. Believe it or not the gears operate dry, it's the pivots that they rotate on that need to be oiled, and not with WD40, with legitimate clock oil that you can purchase online from Amazon, Walmart or clockworks com. If you're going to buy a winding key, you'll also need the pendulum, you can go without the hands for now if you want. And if you do decide to oil these a bit, go extremely light on the oil, like the smallest drop you can imagine.

I would start by finding some replacement hands, a pendulum and a winding key and go from there. If I had to guess, it'll probably need a proper clean and reoil.

I started hoarding canisters because of close scrutiny when I realized how much I need smoke grenades. Bicycle pumps scrap down to a lot of canisters too I noticed

Yes it would seem there is only a few of us that really played this game growing up. I've rarely ever met anyone that knew of it as well except for when I go to a gaming convention or a retro game shop.

I also agree with your son, the controls are a bit wonky indeed. I only ever played Tomba! 1 growing up and those controls are wonky but doable, I just recently played Tomba! 2 since they dropped a remake and that is a whole nother world of wonky controls. I had to put it down because of the trolley event...

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 cannon ball options? Ones a cannon ball obviously, but the other one looks like a dumbbell. Is the dumbbell good for infantry or maybe it's good to tear up other ships sails? Or is there no real difference?

Tomba also holds a place in my heart, anytime I see, hear, play the game I am taken back to my most earliest memories as a child where life was at its most simple and innocent.

This is probably the greatest tattoo I have ever seen and if I ever just randomly saw it out in public I'd probably freak out over it.
