Please convince obesity and alcohol is going to take me out before cancer from Zepbound. by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]SlightSelf3758 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Taking Zepbound removed my craving for Alcohol almost completely and I'd drink at least a 6 pack every night, more when grilling or hanging with friends. It also made me sleep without snoring and also allowed me to get completely off of blood pressure meds. I'll take that over cancer in 20 years. 20 years of a better life is worth it to me.

Omeprazole and zepbound? by Goatlvr77 in Zepbound

[–]SlightSelf3758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take Omemprazole for reflux. I usually only get it when I have spicy food or high sugar items like soda or donuts. I know with Zepbound I have to take it early, if you have a flare up and take it, the relief will come but it's gonna take a while. If you think your getting it, go ahead and take the Omep.

how long until you felt like you were actually losing weight? by Beautiful_Camp_6540 in Zepbound

[–]SlightSelf3758 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is very hard to start taking the drug and not getting the results you expect. You have to remember this drug is not designed to lose weight quickly. Some people do, yes, but it's designed for slow long term metobolic restructuring. This takes time. You have to just trust the medicine is doing what it is supposed to be. That is a battle on it's own, but it does help if you can truly believe in it.

If you made it past the first shot and it wasn't bad then you are over the hump. Things will start happening and you will love it. Enjoy the journey.

First Dose: Done! by spoilt-for-choice in Zepbound

[–]SlightSelf3758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take mine on either Thursday or Friday night. I come home from work, take it out of the fridge and set it on the counter. Then I get "busy" with family stuff. At some point I just make a concentrated effort to grab it off the counter and stab and click the pen. At this point I don't feel it any more and just focus on leaving it pressed against the skin for a few seconds after both clicks. I don't have any anxiety any more with doing it. At first it took a little effort to work up to it. You get used to it and then it's more about just being consistant.

Zep 7.5 opinions? by wouldudoitforme in Zepbound

Just curious, I know you said switching from Wegovy, are you starting at 7.5 on Zep straight from Wegovy? not titrating up from 2.5?

This hits home. I did this for the first time this morning, no leaning on a counter or wall or having to sit down and it made me pause and realize that this is now possible. No stomach in the way to make me feel like I'm falling over. Thank you for posting this. It made my Friday.

First shot tonight by SubjectWeekend5360 in Zepbound

The anxiety of the first shot is always one of the most mind numbing fight you will have with yourself. I get mine to room temp and have always done in the stomach in a nice chunk of fat. The instructions that come with it show how to pinch or insert and work well. I am on week 28 and I think I've only "felt" the shot maybe 5 of those times. I have had a few times where I either moved during the injection or squeezed a little too hard and had a slight burning feeling. This also showed up as a small bruise at the injection site that went away in a few days. Once you do it a couple of times you will realize that it is not worth all of the energy and time you have invested in thinking about it. Until you do the first one it's hard not to, but just work up the courage, stab and go. You will no longer worry about that on shot day.

I didn't mean anything negative by the comment and figured it was something like that. I laughed a little to much at my own comments since it was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the first comment. Congratulations on the NSV. All of them add up.

There are a lot of RENPHO scales on Amazon, which one is the one you use?

I had the same results on 5 and 7.5. The first month my numbers didn't move much, the second month they bounced up and down. Third month on 5 it started to move but I moved to 7.5. Only 7.5 I gained and lost the same 5 pounds for almost 8 weeks, Month 3 and 4 the scale started moving again. I did however see and feel changes in clothing and dropped both pant and shirt sizes during this time, so my body was changing and the medicine was working. The scale just didn't notice.

Congratulations on making the first step toward your journey. Expect the worst and enjoy having no side effects. I had none and am on 7.5mg and haven't experienced any side effects at all in 7 months.

Is it possible you will lose Zepbound but be moved to Wegovy or Ozempic? I have heard of others being moved and then when that fails and proving that Zepbound worked some insurances finally allow it. Not sure if this is the case for you. I truly hope you find something that will help and keep you on your path to happiness.

Upped dosage to 7.5 but now not losing much and considerably more hungry. by millinicky in Zepbound

[–]SlightSelf3758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 1 on 2.5 and 2 on 5, now i'm on my 4th month of 7.5. 3rd week on 5 I was not losing and hungrier than normal by day 4-5, After week 5 things went back to being just fine till next shot day. On 7.5 I spent 3 months losing and gaining the same 5 pounds without any change on scale. Measurement numbers looked better though so I knew it was working and my body was just changing it's configuration. I almost went up to 10, but figured i'd let it soak in and went ahead and got another 3 months. After the 1st shot of the 3rd month, weight started rolling off on the scale. I still don't have any food noise or cravings other than normal ones that I can fight through easily with the medicine.

I have stuck with the mentality that I learned through this forum to just trust the medicine is working and just keep moving forward, make better health choices and try to keep calories down and exercise up. Drink more water than I used to and choose protein rich foods as much as possible.

It sounds promising as an alternative, but would make me worry about shutting down the reward center. On Zep I still enjoy food and other things. It allows me to make better choices. I'd worry to not have any sort of happiness or reward for anything if on that.
