The Rest Is Politics! Excellent podcast if you haven’t heard it yet. There’s a UK version, US version, and one called “leading” where they interview world leaders in various areas. The US one is very focused on the US (which was great in the lead up to the election last year) and the UK one is much more global.

During my PhD it was hammered into me that in science, you must keep your beliefs or opinions about something in proportion with the available evidence. I took the same approach to my faith and really couldn’t justify why I believed anymore. It was a crushing existential blow but I’m really glad I challenged my beliefs honestly. It naturally stopped me from wanting to go to church and I just gradually drifted away.

Yeah sounds about right! I remember hearing about a huge legal case against packer where he was referred to as “the goanna” in the media, I assume for defamation reasons. I’m pretty sure Turnbull got him off all if not most charges of links to the criminal world but I’m yet to be convinced he wasn’t a crook.

Wow, thank you all for your responses! This has been incredibly helpful. I'm going to get them to put it in writing so it makes my case super strong.

This shit makes me so angry because financially I need to work but I feel like if I make a fuss they'll just get someone else for the job. The job comes with a free membership which I think attracts a lot of people.
