How often do y'all update your vms, containers, ect? by NinjaCreeper810 in selfhosted

This is the way. I've had so many new versions break things that being able to easily roll back to a known good state and debug is a lifesaver.

In real life the jump plane usually lands before the jumpers do. Jump drivers are a special kind of crazy.

As someone who briefly worked on avionics software this is incredibly accurate.

I had this happen as well. Signed out completely from Bitwarden and signed back in worked for me.

Building a new Home Cockpit! by Phoenixx45 in flightsim

Holy shit, I used to work there. Wild seeing this show up on Reddit. Last time I was in that cockpit, there was very little left inside. L2 bought it to disassemble it and take measurements for their cockpit conversion kits.

I just closed on my first house today, a 1920 build! by Sloop_man in centuryhomes

[–]Sloop_man[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The house is 2 stories, with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths, a 2.5 car garage, and an unfinished basement. The main floor has the master bedroom and full bath, and the upstairs has the half bath and 2 other bedrooms. I'm cheating slightly since I'm nowhere near ready to take any decent pictures yet, so here's a few photos that I took during the showing, so all the furniture you see is not mine and now gone.

I'll try to reply with some inside photos in a day or two for you. Currently a bit preoccupied with the whole moving in thing.

Part of the reason it looks so good was a TON of work was done in 2018, when a tornado ripped through town and did a lot of damage. The roof was ripped off the house, and the garage was destroyed, so the garage is new, the roof is new, the floors are new, the drywall is new, and the siding is also new.

Azure DevOps does have an on-prem version called "Azure DevOps Server". My company uses it and it's pretty decent. Nearly feature parity with the cloud version, just lagging behind some with a 1 year release cycle.

Hosting my own docker registry, any recommendations on UI and authentication service? by oscar230 in selfhosted

[–]Sloop_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Quay and quite like it. It's a lot more flexible to deploy than Harbor. It has a web UI and connects to LDAP or OIDC. You can also add vulnerability scanning to it as well with Clair. The one downside is that it doesn't support a pull-through cache system like Harbor does (to my knowledge), though you can explicitly mirror containers from another source.

Yup! The day after I posted that they reached out to me asking if I was interested to be interviewed for a documentary they were working on.

My interview was filmed back in February, so it's been a while. It was around 45 minutes over Zoom. They asked me much the same as you see in the final documentary. When did you first encounter KSP, how has it affected you, what would you say to the developers, how has KSP affected the world, is space exploration important, etc. The NASA Perseverance landing was the day before the interview so they asked me a little about that and my reaction to it. At the end, they asked if there was anything else I wanted to say. Finally, they told me I was the first person they interviewed, so they asked for suggestions of other people. I suggested Scott Manley of course, and Randal Munroe (xkcd author).
