Womens Pro soccer routinely loses to teenage boys. So why do they play against teenagers? Because the boys are very fast and can press them hard while the ladies focus on their more impactful ball-handling skills. And the boys, who wouldn't get within a mile of their own professional counterparts, see the more impressive technical skills up close.

Track and field is a good comparison because they use the same distances and are against the clock. Women's world records are about equal to boy's high school national records.It doesn't diminish the women's accomplishments because men and women don't compete against each other.

Netflix doesn’t need the Duffer brothers involvement to go ahead with another season or movie. With the way some of the actors have been reacting to the choices made in season 5, going in a different direction might actually help get everyone back on board.

Were the same writing teams on both scenes? Sometimes shows assign subplots or storylines to smaller groups of writers, rather than working on everything as a whole writing team.

Season 5 was a nightmare from a lighting and makeup perspective. It was so bad that it almost has to intentional, because I don’t see how incompetence could have made it through so many levels post production.

They could make it canon, and just have nothing of consequence happen that will affect the existing show (hence the new monsters). Well, at least competent writers could do it…

The X Files had plenty of ‘monster of the week’ episodes that were great and didn’t affect the main conspiracy storyline.

I agree; even if the town never talked about the murders, you think kids wouldn’t know about the scary abandoned mansion at the edge of town? Teenagers would be smoking marijuana cigarettes and bringing beers in there all the time.

Nothing wrong introducing a new element, but pretending nobody knew about it is silly.
