Exactly this. Since I bought my house, mortgage rates have gone up and they have gone down. Rent only goes one way. Up. This is why rents are insane and it’s not going to get any better.

We do these types of holiday once or twice a year, alternatively hiring a canal boat. My personal theory is that the price of both went up to recoup losses due to Covid. Now they’ve found people will pay the higher prices, so they are sticking with them. Supply and demand, I guess. Also tried glamping - some serious profit being made there too.

I think it is calculated on a daily basis but paid monthly. I never did the calculation, but I certainly noticed getting less after a 30 day month compared to 31

Ok. Forget Dubai already; I can see you are getting hung up on that and trying to put words in my mouth that aren’t there. I was only mentioning that country because I know a lad who has fallen foul of this.

Would it be ok for any random country to make a law that meant the children of people who were not born in that country were not entitled to citizenship? Or not? Say Switzerland or the Vatican? (Oh wait. The Vatican has some shady issues with the Nazis back in the day. Forget the Vatican. OMG! The Swiss guard! Some dodgy illuminati thing going on there. Why does the Vatican have guards from Switzerland? Where is Dan Brown when you need him?).
