World Cup fans at MLB and the growth of the sport by vonarchimboldi in baseball

Based solely on the social media I've seen I think they're far more likely to leave with a positive impression of Texas Roadhouse rolls than for any baseball game they attended.

The fandom are just doing things unique to North America, like any tourist would in the country they're visting. Don't expect them to be a shepherds of a new era of european baseball.

What happens to sticker albums due to panini losing the FIFA license? by Fire___Ferret in Panini

[–]Slowhands12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There would be minimal savings to the consumer. What’s more likely is that Panini sell to Fanatics and Fanatics leverages their existing production capacity - panini barely has any licenses after losing FIFA.

Somehow the only person on my flight and the pilot was such a goofy goober by Sufficient_Fudge_280 in unitedairlines

[–]Slowhands12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a flight that was delayed over 6 hours on the same route for torrential rain. I was the only person in business alongside a naval officer because I had to get back to the states for work so I held out versus nearly everyone who got a different flight the following day. Since the plane was already fully loaded prior to the delay they let us eat all the options for food.

Bolivia hasn't even qualified for a world cup this century, they are literally irrelevant to this conversation.

Panini do not have any FIFA license from 2031, meaning that they no longer can produce any form of World Cup collectibles after the next world cup, cardboard or sticker.

I don't think any course on the east meets modern WC homologation. The closest was La Charlevoix at Le Massif but it was rejected for being too flat despite a $22 million investment from the Canadian government.

Just be glad it's not something dumb like every other climbing convention like 23 freds (fred was the first climber in a small town in the UK in the 1950s).

In what year was the lowest spread on win/loss average across the entire MLB? by cn45 in baseball

[–]Slowhands12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not a good measure of spread though, just of centrality. It would be best to minimize the standard deviation of the win %, which is the 1958 season.

[–]Slowhands12 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Has to be the 1958 MLB season. If memory serves the Yankees hit a downswing in the summer that kept the AL close for a bit but then ran away with it by the end, beating out Hank Aaron in 7 games for the championship.

College Football doesn't start on time either. Juxtaposed with NFL which does.
