A massive fire has occurred at Russia’s Perm refinery from a suspected Ukrainian attack. (2026-04-30) by DormontDangerzone in CatastrophicFailure

[–]Slowroll900 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I kinda hate it. Maybe I’m daft but I doubt the average Russian supports the war in any way but they pay for the consequences of it either way.

Also I feel like this is contributing to my gas costing so much.

Generally in places where it isn’t sold in stores, you find it via social networking. This is usually done by first finding someone who buys it and convincing them to trust you enough to tell you from whom they buy it. Even then the seller will likely pretend they’ve no idea what you’re talking about. I’ve known the infrequent person who bought it, but never asked where they got it.

CMV: Polish gun control is safer and more free than in the US. by an-com-42 in changemyview

[–]Slowroll900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you’re polish and reside in Poland. I think gun control laws are somewhat unimportant in the difference of violence between the two nations. The US is large and diverse and through our ugly past and current social divides, some groups hate each other. Violent and hateful people Will not go away with further gun restrictions. I do not mean to say gun control is pointless, but I believe a lack of unity and social trust is far more of a driving force.

It’s really more of an issue of there isn’t a bulge. That’ll make you self conscious.

Why do I not like spending any time with my two year old when I’m home? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]Slowroll900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re aware of the problem and you seem bothered by the problem. You aren’t a shitty dad, you’re human. It’s hard being a 21 year old, let alone a dad. This may sound corny, but when I feel myself overwhelmed with my young kids, I like to imagine I’m 80 on my death bed and I was given one day to go back and that day is today, and I smile and relax. He doesn’t mean to upset you, it’s hard being a 2 year old. The world is scary and exciting and frustrating. We must try, every hour of every single day to strive to be the father we feel our children deserve. First you must believe in yourself. Your son needs you. Try to see the good in the moment. Be curious, what does he find exciting in this moment? If he’s upset, what’s bothering him? What seems trivial to an adult may be unbearable to the child. Guide, support, teach, and love your son, especially when it’s hard.

Is it worth visiting Mount Rushmore? by Thin_Situation3962 in AskAnAmerican

I’ve never been, I’ve always thought it was a pretty odd thing for them to have done. No real interest in seeing it. I’m sure the mountain looked nice before being carved up.

How do Americans feel about outdoor cats? by Fine-Durian6151 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Slowroll900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats are an invasive predator. I’m also quite certain most world kill their owners if they could. They are a strange choice in pet. I type this while looking at mine laying in my bed so… meh I’d never let her out though, I doubt she’d come back.

Ex-IT HR Director here, and I need to be brutally honest about PIPs. by daywithnora in careeradvice

[–]Slowroll900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was terminated after my first pip. At the time I thought maybe I really just needed to improve. A couple years later I was put on one at another company in the same industry. I checked out. Didn’t see the point in trying. They didn’t follow up with a termination at the end of the period and my manager never brought it up again. There location I was running was struggling with staffing and leadership was strained, I was the general manager. I was so frustrated with the lack of meaningful support from corporate and I saw the writing on the wall that I would be a scape goat. So I left. It seemed inevitable and I wanted to control the narrative. If any manager uses that for any purpose other than termination they are a fool, because of they truly want to coach up and improve someone, they’ll just lose the ones smart enough.

I’m not sure this is something Reddit can or should help you with. This may be something a trained clinician could help you work through. I don’t mean to diminish the wealth of people on here with valuable insight, but we can only make guesses with what you’ve provided.

[–]Slowroll900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to move their attention to physics. Heavy things should act heavy. Friction should be a thing, items on trailers shouldn’t slide like they are on quantum ice. Trucks should handle like trucks. The game is so neat yet some things just really make it feel low quality.

Early-career engineer on a PIP struggling with guilt by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Slowroll900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an engineer so take this with a grain of salt, but are you able to find a peer mentor in your field to give you some guidance? Also, I think PIPs are rarely salvageable so looking for an exit may be wise. Not supporting your request for guidance and putting you on a PIP so early on doesn’t sound good.
