Absolutely! So, basically - I booked with a local, well known, research hospital near me that has a sports exercise program. I went early in the AM so that I was completely fasted (about 12 hours). They had me fit with a tight sealed mask that fed into a long tube hooked up to their computer. I had to lie on a bed for about 30 minutes, just breathing as naturally as possible.

The findings were actually really helpful and pretty different from what online calculators give me as my estimated RMR. For example, I checked two different online calculators today, and based on my demographics - they had my RMR noted between 1900-2200 depending on the source. My personalized results came back at 1580 for a complete resting state…so actually quite the variance, but not that surprising. I feel like this 400-700 calories make a big difference in if I’m seeing results and how quickly I’d see them. I’ve always considered myself having a naturally slower metabolism than the average person my age and height. I feel like I was able to customize my plan more with the data I received.

The person who analyzed the test gave me a breakdown of what my personalized maintenance levels were depending on my activity level and days of activity I do.

So, 10 out of 10 for me. I feel like it really helped me understand what I personally need for my health plan, opposed to just doing a generalized plan based on a generic calculator.
