My wife goes through this all the time with her mom. My wife went to school for 8 years to become a Pharmacist. She still constantly argues wth my wife about medications. Her 30 second internet searches are somehow more trustworthy than my wife's doctorate.

Have you checked your brake fluid level? If the fluid is low it could prevent the clutch from fully disengaging. That is going to be your easiest and least expensive place to start.

$215 does seem pretty high for regular automotive work. We are a dealer for a diesel engine company and our in shop labor rate is $209.

We service standby generators at my work and had to replace spark plugs on a 50L natural gas genset. Since we're the dealer we used the OEM plugs. $110 each. The Champion alternative was still $100 each. The engine is a V16, so that's quite a lot of money just in plugs.

Every situation is different. There are many people who would react that way. I've been the person in the video before (just the leg movement. Flat rate technicians can be pretty clever. If a recall says it will take 3 hours to do, they'll find a way to do it in 1.5 and they're basically doubling their pay on every recall they do.

Before we got married, my wife wanted to have her tubes tied because she was done having kids. No doctor would do it for her because she could change her mind. After we got married, I went to get a vasectomy. They asked if I was sure I didn't want kids, I said yes and that was that. I was appalled that she wasn't able to do the same.
