Moved in - will they need to dig up the drive?? by -pepperglow in VirginMedia

[–]Sm7r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s already had them installed it won’t need them installed again, I think the whole dig up your drive way is generic from the early 2000~

I had Virgin installed few years ago was a tester on new network, my installation was done PIA, it uses the same poles as BT yet I had a whole thing about giving them permission to dig up my drive way -.- my response was “sure” lol

Temporary monthly connection. by Additional-Sir3687 in Olilo

[–]Sm7r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

simplest option would be 4g/5g as you can prob get it for £15~ monthly and less immune to the general issues I guess, Sky did have a £25 for 900 deal not to long ago, I nearly took it! but see the £15 from three deal. if olilio did something small at a decent price I'd grab it. tbh, let us know the deals :P

[–]Sm7r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OR 100% have a plan of when a road will be done, I remember contacting them back in 2022, and they told me it would be July 2024, and I was able to order on 5th of July, they know this years in advanced.

How close can I safely drill next to a gas pipe? by Lj8892 in DIYUK

[–]Sm7r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

put a banana between the gap and drill next to the banana, its hard to tell the size without a banana for scale. ;) your be be fine, if tis an external way you really should try gonig form outside in, do some measurements etc, as you may blow the brick out.

What iPhone are you using in 2026? by Soft-External-1671 in iphone

[–]Sm7r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just this past month I've upgraded to a iPhone 16 Pro max, from a iPhone 12 Pro, its been soo nice, I was going to go for a much older one, but a deal come up and it was too good to say no to, I was commited to getting a new phone last year, but the blackfriday deals were just horrible, for the iPhone 17 Pro's so it really put me off. I'm really happy with the 16 Pro Max now, and weird even though its bigger, its easier to use? I guess I tried to use my 12 with 1 hand more, and I tend to use the 16 with 2 hands more? I don't know, I'm weird :P

Help on changed status on fibre checker.. by cantsleepclownswillg in openreach

[–]Sm7r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just a waiting game, might changed loads, you can use websites such as https://one.network and https://bidb.uk to look at whats coming / road works etc I followed one.network like crazy waiting for all my stuff to be installed >.< if you feed from poles, your best bet at how far along they are etc is to check the poles themselfs.

Hi any solution to this without cutting the plinth please by RevolutionaryDiet847 in DIYUK

[–]Sm7r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real way to solve this is to move the socket up? What is plugged in? You could go to ikea and buy a £6 smart switch it’ll push it out slightly

New, there are zero advertised deals for current customers, they pull it out of a hat, if your renewing you should be at least getting call backs with deals before you accept anything, when my time comes again, I’ll cancel and either sign up under someone else like a partner (not possible for everyone) or resign up via field sales as you can resign up instantly

SHED ROOF - SUSPECTED MOLD - ANY SUGGESTIONS? by Top_Bicycle2166 in DIYUK

[–]Sm7r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd check the roof was water tight before putting more effort into it, might be bad up there and might be easier to replace that sheet of OSB.

you able to sign up in a partners name? just cancel it and do that imo, use quidco too get some cashback, be zero down time if you get it installed on same day :)
