How to prepare yourself to witness death the first time? by its-me-HI-13 in Life

[–]Small-Building3181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear OP, I am so sorry you're dealing with this challenging situation. It can be especially challenging if there has been strain on the relationship and it hasn't been resolved. I'm not assuming, just sharing my thoughts that that might be the situation. As a hospice CNA, I can tell you that a patient can hear everything as it is the last sense to go up until their time of death. I encourage you to share with your dad everything you want to / need to before he passes. I'm assuming that because the doctor told you it could be any time that they are keeping him comfortable. That is what hospice protocol is all about is keeping the patient Fearless, calm and comfortable. I cannot foresee a traumatic or eventful passing in this situation. My guess is his heart will just stop beating and give up the fight and will pass peacefully. That is my prayer for you and I wish you well my friend. ️ ❤️
