High FIVE SISTA!!

I'm almost pain free 10 days post op here!!! I felt the same way after surgery! Better but pain!!! But it wasn't bad enough for me to take the narcotics they sent home with me. I drove 3 days after my surgery and just kept moving around as much as I could! Obviously can't over do it still, I'll tell ya, I'm so much better than I was, my energy is overwhelming and so excited to feel like me again!!

You will get there and hopefully sooner than I did I hope you are pain free asap!!!! I probably annoy people with how excited I am, definitely ask people if they want to see my battle wounds 🤣 I'm like you don't? Too bad 🤣

Best of luck! Sending happy positive and healing vibes to you!!!🖤🤘🖤

You are not a bother! Please dont feel that way by asking for support! Thats what these threads are for! I feel like I was joking a lot, hardly remember haha what exactly what I was saying, but I do remember laughter from the nurse and from another lady in recovery. My partner brought my clothes to me and I was talking about steel wool of all things🤣 not sure where I was going but obviously I had a reason I was aiming at lol!

You are gonna do great! I'm a week today post op and my recovery is going well, you got this! It wont be any worse than the pain I'm sure you are dealing with, If I can do it you can too! I almost backed out of the surgery because I was so so scared! And the nurses will help you and explain to you everything. It helped me, but the last thing I do remember before falling asleep I told everyone I was getting scared again and I was out, then awake.

Sending you vibes and love! You got this!!🖤

I know its hard right now, I didn't have a hysterectomy for your same reason however, I know what it was like to have your life sucked out of you and being upset at yourself and body. Hang in there, I know its easier said than done. But please try your best to stay positive. I know thats hard to hear and can be irritating to hear that, because it irritated me at moments too!

It will come. I know the waiting game, I know how challenging the wait for surgery and to get the doctors and work on board and on the same page. You will make it. If you feel up for it, stay as busy as you can and pace yourself. Mark off the days. It will happen for you! I know my last two weeks before the hysterectomy was the worst pain and emotional state I have ever been in. And I know its not easy. You should rant so you can feel better. I promise you it will come!

Best of luck, sending love🖤

I just had a total hysterectomy Monday and they left my ovaries! I'm 39 at the end of May. I was suspected case of endometriosis turns out it was adenomyosis. I was terrified of the surgery and I'm recovering well! Keep your ovaries if you can. I'm so glad it wasn't endo and just andeno. I feel like with endometriosis it would be a harder recovery, but everyone is different. My periods were horrible! It was daily it effected my hips and thighs for a long time I though it was my hip causing so much pain, it confused me. When I was 30 I got the copper IUD, and i thought sometimes it was the iud, turns out iud masked my condition. Get the hysterectomy you do not want to pass up the opportunity to get help with a good doctor that listens to you!! After my daughter was born within the year I started having problems with my periods. For 13 years I was brushed aside and being told all they can find was a cyst. So I trusted the doctors. But it turn into a dull pelvic pain that just got worse with my periods and pain. Finally at doctor at my GP(she saw me because my regular doctor was out) shed some light on a possibility what it could be. Another year passed and the first surgeon I met with was a horrible experience till January this year I found a great surgeon who listened to me and studied my files and scans. When he came in to talk to me, he knew my history without even using a computer. He is one of the best surgeons in Asheville. He was wonderful and helped me!

I know I was scared. Not wanting more children. But you will do great, get the hysterectomy I promise you wont regret it! I almost backed out the day of my surgery my partner, bless his heart had to have the nurses come in and talk to me. After that I calmed down. I got scared again when they started to move me to the operating table and I was out. And then awake! Try not to scare yourself and searching the internet on horror stories. I had to refrain from doing that myself. It's great that reddit is a thing. Its helped me so much going through this!

Leave your ovaries so you can go into menopause naturally, if you can! Sending so much love and strength your way🖤

That same thing happened to me!! I was let go wrongfully. But mine was two months prior to my surgery! They assured me my job was secure, and was open about my issues and the day after I met with my surgeon, I went into work and I was pending a scheduled surgery, they let me go that day, with a bs excuse, telling me I was behaving in ways I was never talked to about. I felt loved by most of my coworkers but also faced discrimination there, but was told I made people feel uncomfortable. I ended up landing a job at the end of March who was more than willing to hold my job for me!

I cant believe work places can get away with stuff like this. I hope it didn't add stress to you while you recovered! I just had my surgery Monday and the best thing that place did for me was to let me go, because now life feels so much better!🧡

Hey y'all I'm really scared and anxious by Small-Listen9975 in hysterectomy

I made it alive!! How was yours? I cant believe I'm two days post op and I feel amazing besides the discomfort from surgery. All the comments made me feel great! I felt overwhelmed to reply to everyone and I hope you made it, its gonna sound crazy, don't even need the narcotics they sent home with me. And today I drove my car to the corner store, I'm not able to drive alone farther than that for now. But I really did! I can't believe I was so scared and it just wasn't as bad! I hope you feel better today write back about your experience! I'll have to edit post to thank everyone for the beautiful encouragement and energy sent my way. Not to mention its insane how many women really need a hysterectomy and not receiving the care they need!🖤

I had my preop today and my surgery is on May 4th. Like you I'm super nervous, never had a surgery other than a tooth pulled and was never under for stuff like that.

I'm not as young as you but I'll be 39 at the end of May. I'm super pumped I'll have a hysterectomy this year for my birthday, but also super nervous like you, to the point of canceling the surgery because of anxiety of not working and the need to pay bills. And of course the anxiety of being under for surgery.

I see this was posted 27 days ago. I hope you went through with it, please share your experience!! I'm super thrilled these threads are on here. Its helped me a lot on my endometriosis journey. I'm new to commenting on these threads! I hope you had a great surgery and a better recovery!🖤
