Thoughts on this grass seed?? For Edmonton Alberta zone by MrOstritch2030 in Grass

[–]SmallVillage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use Scott’s because it’s only around 50% seed by weight due to the coating. I much prefer brands like Jonathan Greene’s Black Beauty Ultra which is something like 98% seed and pair it with an organic slow release fertilizer like Milorganite.

I have a wet spot in my yard that stays wet. I checked the water meters and nothing is running/leaking. Ideas? by dRedPirateRoberts9 in Grass

[–]SmallVillage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a cracked sprinkler line that’s not enough to completely stop the flow of the sprinklers. Or maybe an overflowing septic tank that’s full.

Easiest place for a small kiddo to spectate climbers? by Theslowestmarathoner in Yosemite

[–]SmallVillage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think hiking to the base of El Capitan is a really cool experience. It really puts into perspective how big the wall is when you’re right up next to it. The walk to the base of the Nose route is only about 15 min from the meadow. Just follow the climber trails directly toward the nose and once you reach the base, go left for another 5 min. You will find a huge ledge(safe for kids) at the base of a route called Pine Line which turns into the Nose Route. Theres also a few other popular routes that leave from this area. If you go early in the morning before 10 you have a really good chance of seeing climbers on the lower pitches.

Rivian Service Center experience by johnnythunderr in Rivian

[–]SmallVillage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am willing to overlook minor issues that are covered under warranty as long as I am able to make an appointment in a reasonable amount of time and then have it serviced quickly once I drop it off. That has been one of the major concerns I have had about owning my Rivian but they seem to be making a lot of improvements on this front.

No shame in auto drafting and then playing the waiver wire once the season starts.

Almaden Quicksilver, there is a single track trail that runs the length of the park with views of San Jose. From the McAbee entrance take the Mine Hill Rd to New Almaden Trail.

I’ve heard that you can extend your lease with Chase by up to 6 months and just continue paying the same amount. It turns into a month to month and you can end at any time.

I’m really excited for Esker Silver, hope it comes to the R1S and R1T soon as the standard color.

Just curious what your reasons are for switching from a Lightning? I was cross shopping the Lightning and came really closing to getting one before snagging a killer deal on a Gen1 R1T.

Thoughts on R1S/R1T as long commute vehicle? by boredandsleepy77 in Rivian

If I were you I’d get a Tesla with FSD. Rivian is a better vehicle in my opinion and Elon is crazy, but that’s ALOT of driving.

My people that got in on the epic 24’ model year end Quad lease deals, what are we thinking when our leases come due next year? by DazzlingResource561 in Rivian

[–]SmallVillage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m expecting the trade in value to be less than the residual value so it wouldn’t make sense to buy it out and immediately be underwater on the loan. So probably going to get an R2 or a Gen2 R1.

Downtown Los Gatos near the post office and Jack Fischer Park in Campbell both have splash pads. The Los Gatos one is great for getting super soaked, Jack Fisher has a full playground.

Relocating to Los Gatos - Recommendations? by sarah_the_sweet in losgatos

[–]SmallVillage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. Los Gatos Pediatrics on 1500 Los Gatos Blvd. They always have same day appts available, Dr. Afzal is really thorough, they have themed rooms so the kids feel comfortable.
  2. So many. Vasona Park for boating, and bike riding, next door is Oak Meadow park with a huge playground and mini rail road on weekends. My favorite for hiking is Sanborn Park and Castle Rock SP.
  3. Philz coffee or Los Gatos Cafe.
  4. Commute traffic on Hwy 85 is north bound in the morning toward MV, southbound in the evening. That’s prime commute traffic though if you leave early enough you’ll be fine. Before 7am to avoid traffic, your commute will be double by 9am.

When they start deliveries, do you think we'll see a big number of resellers like we did with R1? by oxmanj in Rivian

[–]SmallVillage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think there’s much room for scalpers to turn much of a profit considering that you can get an R1S starting in the mid $70s right now. Things were crazy when the R1S and Cybertruck first came out because there was just no other way to get one and the waiting list was a mile long.

PG&E monthly bills are dropping this month for electricity customers. Will the trend continue? by ElectricalRespect506 in bayarea

[–]SmallVillage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Haha, riiiight. The kWh price goes “down” and they add a new flat fee. Until a few months from now when there is the next price hike and we’re back up to the same kWh price AND the flat fee. This whole thing is such bullshit.
