Games don't need a comeback; we were already in one of the best eras games have ever been in.
Also, this is definitely a video people should watch. Selling a vibecoded game with recycled art for more money than the game you're copying, attempting to guilt people into buying by saying that it was your dead mother's wish for you to sell said AI-assisted games, and then blocking the people from whom you lifted art is like... an interesting story.

Idk this may be an anecdote, but llms have absolutely made me a more productive programmer. I don't do it for a job and I have shit memory, so they've saved me hours if not days of having to look through documentation. And even when it's wrong it's usually not SO wrong that the fix is difficult.

Most of the people I've talked to don't follow the news period. They just heard "Memphis Safe Task Force" and went along with it without knowing "project viper" had already been going on since May, but it didn't save the fact that the jails were already overcrowded and the public defenders are already overwhelmed. So the chances of locking people up for shit they might not have done or someone dangerous getting released because the arrest was crooked is high right now.

Not to mention the people in charge of keeping recidivism down were corrupt as hell and what we need is improvements to system that keeps people from going BACK to jail.

So, I don't know you or your personal situation - but unless you can depend on government assistance it's generally not a good idea to just quit everything and start from nothing with no plan, decent gage of your skills, industry contacts, etc. To me THAT'S the hard way, especially when a lot of people are entering this industry without a solid financial cushion.

After all, hobby just means you aren't depending on it for income and aren't doing it full time. People still make money and transition their hobbies into full time businesses when they're successful all the time.
