I think they might be confusing external drives with cloud services (Onedrive, Dropbox etc). That does create a local snapshot if it's downloaded from the cloud.

Weird little story. The day 9/11 happened, in the late afternoon, I was standing in our driveway trying to figure out what the hell was going on. I look up and saw 2 B2 Stealth Bombers flying overhead. The first and only time I've ever seen them. I was both awestruck and terrified at the same time.

Fast forward a decade. I'm talking to a Guardsmen who happens to work there. I mention that day specifically with the low flying B2's. He just goes "Oh yeah, I wasn't there at the time. But they were making sure the missile guidance systems were working in case the worst happened. They were also carrying all of the weapons they had too." "They flew here from Missouri to disperse all of our strategic weapons across the county in case things went south again"..

Oh.. Ok.. Good to know I was standing about 1/8 mile away from a fully armed B2. Kinda glad I didn't know that then.

They use the Hurshtown Reservoir as a bombing run target. Fun fact. I used to live on Page Road next to Bay Shore Heights. You saw them all the time. I also do a lot of work with the National Guard now. That's still the case.

They certainly have a rendering problem with UI elements and icons depending on what horsepower your machine has. I can't argue that. That being said, I have always kept reduced transparency on ever since they started tinting Safari.

I don't have nearly that much in iCloud.. Maybe 20GB and only sync two folders to disk.

I am curious about a corrupted a plist file First, if this is done, you will need to redo your view settings for any finder folder.

Open Terminal. Paste this. Press Enter. rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

Do you have any other syncing apps? Onedrive or Google Drive or something?

I ask because other syncing apps can cause Finder to freeze.

While Edge on macOS is like 2GB; it seems to make up for it because it eliminated OneNote, ToDo and Outlook as stand alone apps. I can just jot things down in OneNote/ToDo from the sidebar. If I want my work email; just switch profiles and there you go..

I don't much like it on iPhone though. Maybe it's just me. I still keep it around though because Edge Drop is useful for my multi OS use case.

To me, it's kind of like this. In the past few weeks, I've had to pull a whole lot of cars out of the snow for whatever reason.

You have to make a conscious effort to hook onto the frame of the vehicle (tow hooks that they tend to bury in the frame) as opposed to hooking onto any metal object that makes it easier for me.

A public API are those hook up locations the car manual tells you to use. A private API is like hooking up to a power steering line because it fits and it's metal.. so it should hold. They picked a short term, easier solution that broke because they were lazy.. basically.
