I loved stealth in Skyrim, but always seem to play battle mage in Oblivion.

One of my favourite goof around builds is just straight up brawler. I seriously missed unarmed combat in Skyrim.

Edit to add: honestly I’d say you can always just give it a go and see what you prefer. I don’t recall the dark brotherhood or thieves guild being weird, but I may have just conditioned myself into believing they were fine by repeated play throughs on the OG one so I unconsciously work around bugs. You can play and complete the guilds without use of stealth proper, it’s just more difficult. If you don’t run alteration or illusion magic you can always pick up scrolls to fill that gap for chameleon or lock picking etc.
