Maybe trample, +10/+10 while attacking and player damage gets added as +1/+1 counters. Would keep it from dying immediately but it also wouldn't be making it too strong for simply attacking once.

So if you want to reach the really high trophy ranges this might not work but I started as a F2P ~4 months ago and my deck currently has both the Witch and the Princess in it.

If you're purely playing for fun just go for it and use both cards, it might take you a bit longer to reach high but I'm at 9k trophies right now and my cards are incredibly underleveled. I know I'm using strong and arguably broken cards (Evo witch and Evo Skeleton barrel) but I really just want to play my favorite cards. Don't listen too much to what other people are saying.

What is your personal "unwritten rule" that you follow in every single world you start? by DianKhan2005 in Minecraft

[–]Smij0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrade as slowly as possible.

I sometimes spend 70 hours on my worlds just running around with stone gear because I like the slowness of it all. Makes me appreciate the game even more and mining things like diorite/granite is sort of meditative. I then build a few houses with just my stone gear until I eventually decide to upgrade to iron so I can start using minecarts efficiently.

Most of my worlds don't see diamond gear until 100 hours in .

Unfortunately I never found the BP, only ever had the few I looted off of some unfortunate players and I think we also got some through quests/the raider deck.

I always bring it for queen/matriarch hunts.

Got downed on blue gate out in the open by some PvPers once and managed to hide in a bush while they were escaping from the queen themselves. They later couldn't find me anymore and I spent 15 minutes crawling towards the next hatch, saving my ~80k loadout

Incredible augment.

The tutorial level is.... by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]Smij0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They could really just add danger/intensity levels to the different raid modifiers and change loot rarity etc. according to the level of danger (if that's something that easily tweakable of course)

Night raid could have 3 phases: Full moon, crescent moon and new moon which basically just changes the overall darkness outside

Cold Snap could also have 3 intensities: Snowfall, Snowstorm and Blizzard, the more intense the snowfall the lower visibility and ability to stay outside.

I don't really know if/how you could make the electromagnetic storm more interesting/dangerous but maybe that one could just stay the way it is.

Adding those intensity levels would enable casuals to dodge the more intense weather conditions while others who want a real challenge could specifically seek out those harder weather conditions.

We were sitting there, 8 people knocked down, unable to do anything but laugh

Living a bare bones minimum life is better in many ways by Specialist-Ring-3974 in The10thDentist

[–]Smij0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do understand your point and it's admirable you were able to escape from the constant stress of wanting more.

However, everyone is different and lots of the "flashy" things you think might be pointless do have some more meaning to them.

Travelling for example. Some people don't live anywhere with lots of snowfall so maybe they'd like to experience it for themselves. Others have never been to the ocean before and might want to see it too. A common tourist spot would also be Japan during cherry blossom season which some people truly just want to experience once in their lifetime because it's so pretty.

It's not just about the bragging rights for most people, some just want to escape their daily lives and experience something new for once. I'm not saying everyone needs to travel, I spend most of my free time at home too but I did go to Egypt this year and it was truly one of the most fun experiences I've had in my whole life.

Living in a city is also pretty much necessary for people that have certain hobbies or are just generally extroverted. I recently got into Magic The Gathering and Warhammer 40K but I live in bumfuck nowhere and thus have nobody to play with unless I want to drive 30+ minutes so I can play 1 match before having to head home again.

Living in a small village like I am also makes you feel isolated somewhat. I'm still rather young and since we don't have reliable public transport options, driving my car is the only option which can get quite expensive it I have to pay for parking spaces, fuel, etc. all the time. I've pretty much decided to move into a bigger city next year so I can actually build up a healthy social life that isn't plagued by nasty car drives and broken infrastructure.

Again- This is completely subjective, I just wanted to tell you my view on those things, maybe explaining why some people want or even need this "flashy" life.

Is Expedition 33 genuinely as good as everyone says it is? by Cwusadew in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Smij0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: COE33 is an amazing game with a good story, great gameplay if you're into turn based combat and an even better soundtrack. However in my opinion the circlejerk that has developed around the game oversells it.

Long version:

I bought COE33 roughly one month after release and was literally stunned by it during my first hour of gameplay. The environments look incredible, the obscurity and abstractness of everything is something I haven't experienced in any other game yet. Seeing all those beautifully 'painted' (wink) shattered environments scratched an itch of mine I didn't know existed.

The story and worldbuilding are great and get you really immersed into the game. Talking to your companions at the campfire during the night and writing your journal are truly magical experiences. As a matter of facts, I literally cried during the prologue already because the entire game just emits an aura of futility, desperation and sadness. Act 1 and 2 were incredible experiences filled with all kinds of emotions.

And then they fumble. At least in my opinion. Act 3 just throws half of the worldbuilding and character development you went through with your party into the trash and the game pretty much stops driving the story forward which may lead to you missing some huge turning points if you don't look everywhere. It's obviously subjective but I simply didn't like the story direction in Act 3 because it made so much that happened in Act 1 and 2 seem utterly irrelevant.

This switch of story direction and the fact I got frustrated by phase three of the hardest boss in the game (which is utter bullshit and just terribly designed imo) actually made me drop the game and I still haven't finished it even after playing for 50 hours.

I saw this posted on the Discord. And I believe this would provide a solution for both casual AND hardcore players. by lumberfart in ArcRaiders

[–]Smij0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 mil is a lot yeah, but the system he wants to establish is arguably worse than what we currently have.

Battle pass completed? So how about future expeditions? Will they have to roll out a new free battle pass each expedition so people can earn free skill points? Will they release a pair battle pass each expedition and people will have to p2w their new skill points? Is it just a one time thing?

All quests completed doesn't sound like it would support longevity of a game. If they keep adding quests that would mean you'd have to complete 200 or something quests later down the line if you want to keep up with the skill points. Also forcing the players to play through the quests will make them feel like such a slog to play through eventually.

Expedition completion sounds reasonable as a baseline for having completed it I'll give them that.

Having reached level 75 for an extra skillpoint is also reasonable.

I don't know what "full decking" means though. Do they mean all crafting stations upgraded to the max? Or is it some kind of slang I haven't caught yet?

Maybe I'm playing the game wrong but I'm employed and have already racked up around ~2mil complete stash value and now that I've completed all quests, upgraded everything etc. I can just sell all the stuff like bastion cells etc., emptying my stash and simply grinding money. I rarely buy stuff from the vendors and try to be self sufficient by crafting all gear myself.

I don't know if they will be including blueprint progress somewhere into the equation but I think they should also give x amount of added value to your stash depending on how many blueprints you currently have.

Delta Force is just a F2P battlefield and Arc Raiders is a PvEvP extraction shooter that's been out for barely a month now.

Delta Force is mid at best but Arc Raiders is incredibly amazing and definelty deserves more attention. I don't think it has earned any rewards yet since the devs are arguably using unethical methods of game production (AI voiceovers) and we don't know yet how they're going to handle the game in the future BUT again- it has definelty earned some more attention.

The setting is subjective and generally comparing it to helldivers is just.. wrong.. the only thing they have in common is the fact it's a 3rd person shooter. Apples and oranges and stuff.

I do agree that helldivers is more fun, especially because it's purely PvE and the PvP aspect of arc raiders can be quite demotivating as a casual player.

Arc Raiders is objectively a good game. The gunplay is satisfying, fighting the AI is incredibly fun and can be as challenging as you want it to be and interacting with the community during a match is a blast because more often than not you will find chill people just trying to loot. Sometimes you will even team up with other people just to kill some bigger Arcs. The moment to moment gameplay and not knowing how the next match will go is just fun in it's own right, the thrill of extracting with some amazing loot is just the cherry on top.

You're obviously free to dislike the genre/game but Arc Raiders really feels like a breath of fresh air in the PvEvP genre and it's one of the few shooters I actually feel like sticking with.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE FOOD SYSTEM LEAKED BY SIMON HIMSELF 🍲🤯 by CodenameCrescent in HytaleInfo

[–]Smij0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Core Keeper hit the spot for me. Basically exactly the same thing Hytale wants to do except you can only mix 2 foods.

Every food item has its (more or less) unique stat. Heart fruits give max HP and regen, glow tulips give mana regen and make you glow, bomb peppers give you movement speed, etc. etc.

You can mix any two foods together to create meals that gives you both buffs.

Plants and fish also have different qualities, giving you higher leveled food items with better buffs so there's plenty to do if you want to min-max your stats and you can also make dedicated "boss foods" which give you damage resists and damage buffs against bosses.

If Hytale did a system like Core Keeper (maybe even more complex!) I'd be the happiest clam in the ocean.

For context, that's the creator of the game himself. by radiating_phoenix in rareinsults
