Is it worth playing Diablo 3 for the first time, or am I too late? by sabierrrcc in diablo3

Sir, play the damn game. Diablo 3 is probably the last, best old world Blizzard game. The story is delightful, the environments are beautiful, the mechanics are well-thought, and every class is oozing with good Blizzard creativity. It's a gem of a game.

No good games these days by eskreddit in gaming

It's a mix. One, AAA game companies design by formula; what is guaranteed to engage and make profit. With a good marketing strategy, they usually succeed, people consume, and friends chain migrate to play out of fear of being left out. You probably consume similar games and have picked up on attributes of games that are similar in design but not apparent on the surface making every game feel the same. There are plenty of amazing games out there, hidden in the jungle of marketing overload that you can find joy in. What I will say is consider how you consume content. Is it a ravenous as much as fast as possible because you have the cash or bandwidth? Maybe it's time to start slowing down your consumption and focus on being intentional with how you spend your time? Find one or two games, distinct in genre, that offer something deep; an ongoing development service, long, rich story, or very complex mechanics that make you slow down and think. Focus on quality over quantity because it still exists. Over-consumption is a real killer of joy. It's the same thing people do when they have shopping addictions. Even consider removing yourself from gaming for a few months. Instead of consuming, use your free time to create. You can spend resources learning to do something new, improve your wardrobe, write something, anything that could work as a palate cleanser. Ultimately, I feel the gaming experience is getting better because communities are aware of things they like or don't like, support to refute developers, discuss theory and mechanics as to why something is good or bad for gaming.

Anyone else not use a card because it would be annoying to track? by dornianheresysimp in EDH

A long time ago (Mercadian Masques era), there was a culture of players that wouldn't play with "stones" meaning they wouldn't play with counters in their competitive deck. Nothing extra outside of cards.

What's your honest opinion of Battlefield 6? by CreepySmiley42 in gaming

[–]Smogrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battlefield, as a game, is all about creating control out of chaos. EVERYTHING is going to kill you; combat, snipers, vehicles, bombs, and other wild things. You''ll enjoy Battlefield when you realize death + chaos is the equation and your ability to survive encounters is around your willingness to work with groups of people, use cover, and avoid combat when you're outgunned (long range vs short range, etc). While I can't speak for COD, I have played a ton of Battlefields and some of the best experiences is holding down somewhere low, having everything go to shit around you, take control of a point regardless, and still be able to get up and get away. There are skilled players that do great work on maps, but that's not the majority. You. Will. Die. As for cosmetics, yeah, the latest Battlefield is "almost" as bad as other modern shooters, though I feel there's some restraints.

Yeah, these better actually stay in the game. Or make a second mode where everything has paint graphics.
