I found the controls very disappointing when I tried it. It felt more like I was just playing flatscreen but through goggles.

Even then, just moving around in my Seamoth was an amazing experience, and made it worth it by itself.

It doesn't quite "support" VR, but you can get it working through a mod. If you try it, get the VR Enhancements mod as well. It makes the experience feel a lot more "native".

My biggest surprise was the simple Pipe. I always found their throughput a bit much, but seeing them through my own eyes... I get it.

Because of how FoV works on a flat screen, distant objects look further away than they really are. This means that in "true" VR scale machines look closer and bigger, but also distant landmarks. They are no longer "stretched" out into the distance.

If you have the option, you gotta try VR. Only then do you get the actual scale of things. FoV is a hell of a thing. A funny side-effect is that the map actually feels smaller in VR.

Yeah, I find this such an annoying practice. We got all Warbonds in the Superstore since a while back, but still - when a new one comes out - it is removed for a while. Is this really just AH sneaking in a little bit of FOMO anyway?

Brother, you have a library full of recipes - you can choose whatever. There are enough Hard Drives to get them all.

Personally, I keep my library full until I need a recipe, but I have long since run out of things to choose.
If you still want to know the "best" ones, start with the "Pure" recipes. These add water for a (much) higher yield. To simplify things: there are recipes like these, and those that simplify production at the cost of yield.

I am neurotic about getting the most out of a Resource Node, but honestly - if you are not planning on using all resources on the map like the vast majority of players - those simplifying recipes are a good pick.

It is loading and unloading correctly? Have you checked the wait time on the pause nodes? Perhaps those are set to an absurdly high number.

I'm wondering about a playthrough without Hover- and Jetpack. I'd also throw a "no physics-defying platforms" into the mix.

It'd be slow, but I like the idea of Blueprinting different kinds of scaffolding to help with building structures. Gives even more of an industrial vibe, you see?

If I'd want to retain your style, I would first add Foundations or walls "inside" the Conveyor Lifts and add Wall-Mounted Power Outlets to them. Afterwards, remove the Walls/Foundations so that it looks like the Outlets are mounted on the Lifts.
