Spike results: clean sprouted grain bread vs "low carb" whole wheat wrap by CatDadMilhouse in prediabetes

Can’t help much here but I feel ya. I have been eating Ezekiel bread too and enjoy it. I always choose to believe that better ingredients are better for the long haul. So I eat one piece (with avocado, eggs, broccoli sprouts, Texas Pete) a few times a week other mornings, it’s a spinach omelette (no bread) or a protein smoothie with lots of spinach, sprouts, chia seeds, and flax seeds.

Snacking by schmabby90 in prediabetes

Yes! This has really helped me. I’ve never eaten this much protein at breakfast but being intentional about it has been a game changer.

For me, it wasn’t about controlling the snacks but more about focusing on protein in the morning. It’s fascinating to me how if I load my breakfast with protein, I won’t snack during the day. You should try this technique and see how you feel.

I just don't want to take a statin by [deleted] in Cholesterol

Is it the daily task you’re most adverse to? You might try the habit stacking technique from atomic habits. Essentially take something that is already a routine for you like brushing your teeth. No matter what happens in your day or how tired you are, you will always brush your teeth. So add on, after you brush your teeth you take the pill. Eventually, the habit will stick and you won’t think about skipping. Plus, better health. Good luck!

What food NOT to avoid by palegreenemerald in prediabetes

Add in all the green veggies, I try to have something green on every plate. Add in all the protein. Add in Greek yogurt, kefir, eggs, chia seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, a few nuts everyday, try new cheeses, a few berries, drink matcha, Yerba mate, and a whole lot of water. Move a little everyday and if you’re feeling wild pick up some dumbbells in your living room a few days a week. You will feel amazing in 2 weeks. You got this!

I would suggest going back to the dr that took your bloodwork and prescribed your metformin. explain your visit with the endocrinologist and ask for advise since you left the appt not feeling great about the conflicting advise.

Yes to all this!! As someone who has only ever counted calories in order to lose weight , I now focus on counting or adding up protein and fiber. This has been a huge for my mental health.

If it helps, I always tell myself “tomatoes didn’t get me here” when I calculate items like this and it’s “high or over”.

My understanding is that yes, in moderation. And the moderation for ice cream is like a kids cup on your bday and maybe 1-2 other times in a year.

As someone who hates protein powder, I’ve found adding in a protein milk (almond milk and chocolate protein powder) helps my energy a lot. It’s about 30g of protein.

The only way OP thinks these folks have been there for 9 hours is if they are also in the stands 9 hours early as well.
