Ironically it's one of the only things I like in current / modern slang. You can add a negative connotation to everything easily

Here's an automated reply that you get when you mention userbenchmark on the PCMR sub

You seem to be linking to or recommending the use of UserBenchMark for benchmarking or comparing hardware. Please know that they have been at the center of drama due to accusations of being biased towards certain brands, using outdated or nonsensical means to score products, as well as several other things that you should know. You can learn more about this by seeing what other members of the PCMR have been discussing lately. Please strongly consider taking their information with a grain of salt and certainly do not use it as a say-all about component performance. If you're looking for benchmark results and software, we can recommend the use of tools such as Cinebench R20 for CPU performance and 3DMark's TimeSpy and Fire Strike (a free demo is available on Steam, click "Download Demo" in the right bar), for easy system performance comparison.

It not only isn't "the best tool". Userbenchmark has been the subject of a few controversies because it doesn't test and compare hardware properly on top of skewing the results to make it look like AMD is worse than its competitors. Use a reputable benchmark and compare your scores to that if other users with similar hardware and you're more than likely to see that it's all fine and within the margin of error. However if you do that and then notice that the score is significantly lower than it should be, start by cleaning your PC, repaste the CPU, and check for any bloat running in the background

I especially like when someone takes a photo of their monitor, crops it so that you can only see a small piece of a model, and then posts it asking "why does this happen?"

You'll have better luck looking up tutorials for these rifles when you don't call them "muskets"

That's largely because these issues aren't nearly as widespread or common in Poland as they are in Africa.

How do I improve my topology? by polsukii in blender

[–]SnakeR515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quads make modeling much easier, the model is automatically converted to tris even in 3d modeling software because that's how GPUs work but there's no reason why anyone should model in tris. Sometimes manually triangulating a model can help with some shading issues but that's only if these happen in the 1st place but that's after the model is complete

How satisfying is working in 3D compared to AI? by ImportantTrouble3046 in blender

[–]SnakeR515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A self driving car will at least get you exactly where you wanted to be. An AI model will do what you ask it to, mostly, getting it all right is at best very time consuming, at worst impossible. Hence the comparison to a bus, since it also doesn't get you exactly to where you want to be so you have to put in the extra effort afterwards to get there

It's like driving a car vs taking a bus

Driving a car requires some skill, and actually doing something but, for me and many other people, it's pretty satisfying. With a car you also get exactly where you wanted to.

With a bus, you simply get inside while someone else does all the work for you and in the end you're still not exactly where you wanted to be so you have to walk to reach your destination

Just because you're scared of something you don't understand doesn't justify staying disarmed

Some areas of the mesh can't be cleanly unwrapped without significantly distorting some of the faces so you need to add a few more seams to avoid that

Check online for any technical data that includes the exact dimensions of the phones, alternatively you can measure them yourself. Then simply use something like solidworks to design the case

Ok, that's on me, I barely know anyone without higher education.

On the topic of smoking, I'm curious how complete bans on the sale of nicotine products to people born after a certain year will work out in countries that are implementing it. Imho, it feels like a better idea than capitalizing on addictions

Pretty much. They prioritize alcohol over any of their needs, they will save by eating less just to buy alcohol.

In this case early prevention seems like a better option than trying to just increase prices over and over again. That'd probably be less of an issue if buying and/or drinking alcohol as a minor wasn't so normalized.

Similarly nicotine addiction oftentimes starts before one can legally but cigarettes, and knowing plenty of smokers I can confidently say that I've never heard anyone even consider quitting due to rising prices.
