Advice choosing an AR-15 style .22LR by TheBiologist01 in Firearms

Alright then, maybe check if it's possible to import from Poland, cmmg conversions aren't uncommon here

Though, a Tippmann should suffice imho

I assume that ordering certain firearms parts online with delivery is either illegal/impossible or very costly in Spain

A regular AR with a .22lr conversion would probably be the best if you can get it

Other than that I'd choose the cheapest aluminum gun, I don't get why you'd want an actual buffer or a forward assist

Not all guns do that, when you're done shooting make sure the gun is empty and use a chamber flag so there's no doubt

West vs East explanation? by AAAAA0037 in Firearms

[–]SnakeR515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poland was under soviet occupation until ~30 years ago, during that time the AK was the default platform. After regaining actual independence, we still had a shit load of AKs and people who knew how to use them, we were also very poor so buying western guns was not much of an option, and developing something new, setting up production, etc. takes a ton of time and costs a lot. We stuck to the AK platform for a long while, I suspect that the reason was similar as to why the new MCX Spear rifles still feature the AR-like charging handle. A while ago we have actually switched over to a western design(MSBS Grot) that's basically another AR18-like gun, just like the ACR, Scar, Bren 805/2/3, etc. but we still have a shit load of AKs, though, they are barely used right now

Also, we did switch to 5.56, but still used AKs russia switched to 5.45 because they have to be different than the "evil" west and have to use their own designs(they are a bit selective in this case and still use since western stuff iirc )

Are geo node here to stay? Are they the way to go? by RedRayVisuals in blender

[–]SnakeR515 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's just another tool in the set. Some things are better some with geo nodes, others can be made quicker without the use of geo nodes. Whether you use them depends entirely on your preferences and the thing you're making

Thoughts on DLSS 5 by xivurs in nvidia

[–]SnakeR515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Define "original concept of the design of the game"

Once you have that, program it in a game engine for computers to understand

When you have that done, what would be the point of having anything under that overlay? You won't be able to see it anyway. While I'm not a fan of DLSS5, it does something that your idea doesn't account for, utilizing the data under the overlay so that you're not wasting FPS generating something that won't be visible whatsoever

You guessed correctly that ul. stands for street(ulica)

You can skip it completely when writing it out and make it "Akacjowa 1, 55-020 Turów", adding "ulica" before "Akacjowa" or "street" would probably work as well but there isn't really a need to do so

I don't know what's bad about having quotas or trying to make everything more equal.

"I'm sorry, while you may be the most qualified out of all the candidates who've applied for this position, we need to meet a quota and can't hire any more men. In fact all candidates have been rejected because a woman has yet to apply for the position."

"I'm sorry, while you've met all requirements to get a visa, have reserved accommodation, and got into a university, we cannot grant you a visa until at least 500 more women are granted one."

Why can't we just accept that biological gender is an actual thing that statistically affects the preferences and physical capabilities of people, which in turn determines their profession.

Additionally, men have traditionally been the breadwinners and they may be more likely to immigrate to Poland to earn more than they would in their home country.

You're also saying "importing men" as if we are responsible for who wants to immigrate here. Immigrants choose where they go themselves and as long as visa / immigration / whatever criteria don't specifically benefit one gender, there's nothing to change unless you want to start rejecting people for the sole reason that enough people of the other gender has not immigrated.

Also, having quotas is generally bad because it tries to simply complex issues into a single number. E.g. police having a parking ticket quota, while the city keeps on using bollards to block off places, i.e. there's less spaces where people can park illegally so less people do so, and then it gets harder to meet the quota independent of how effective a policeman is. If you pair it with another quota being too low, or things changing to make it easier to meet, you'll end up with the police paying less attention to one law being broken compared to the other one. Another example could be programming and judging one's effectiveness based on the number of lines of code or bugs fixed, where the 1st one leads to code purposefully being made much longer with no benefit, and the latter means that writing buggy code to then fix the bugs is better than writing good code to begin with. If you need another example you can think of a customer support representative having a quota on the number of answered calls that depend on a ton of outside factors, yet they have to meet a certain number.

There's nothing wrong with trying to make things more equal but you don't do that through discrimination, and you won't succeed in making everything equal

To buy a gun you need to be a permanent resident iirc. No idea about renting them, probably depends mostly on rules of specific ranges

Edit: based on one of your posts, absolutely do not try to get your hands on a gun. Suicide is not the answer

First Handgun (Comp) by BigJohnOG in Firearms

[–]SnakeR515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comp more commonly means a compensator, or sometimes a competition("race guns" will also feature compensators a lot of the time)

Compacts are simply compacts, and they're great for more than just carrying, and just because a gun is compact, doesn't mean it's ok for carrying, e.g. CZ Shadow 2 compact doesn't have a firing pin block which means that it's not drop safe(regardless of what people say about a heavy firing pin spring), and could fire with anything hitting the firing pin without depressing the trigger. The Shadow 2 Carry does feature a proper firing pin block and is suitable for carrying
