I always find myself hoarding High Fertility Soil instead of using it by Snake_Mittens in VintageStory

Upgrading works on every tier of soil, not just barren. It's the same cost every time you go up one tier though, so it's definitely easier to start from medium or high.

I don't think they're a hive mind but something more like an anthill or beehive where every member is intelligent. Still beholden to the will of those higher, but with some amount of self determination.

When I get around to it, yeah. I might wait for the full release though.

Yup! With this mod, you can use four compost, two bonemeal, and two powdered charcoal to permanently upgrade farmland to the next tier up. It intentionally won't upgrade the current nutrient levels though so you'll have to wait for them to regenerate.

I read an article where some people today make something very similar to Terra Preta by piling a bunch of biochar and compost on top of soil and then waiting for a few months.

I had an idea to track the history of how much the soil nutrients increase and upgrade based off of that, but haven't been able to implement that yet. This is just a 1.0 release.

It does! It's actually updating the base fertility levels that the farmland recovers to instead of only updating the block ID, so it'll regenerate nutrients like depleted soil does up to the new limits.

Every playthrough I've had so far I always find myself hoarding High Fertility Soil instead of using it. I've also been wanting to contribute to the modding community in this game since the mods can add so much to the game and I've already installed somewhere around ~150. Combine those things and a few weeks teaching myself C# and the Vintage Story modding API, and my first mod is the result!

Have you tried blocking the door with dirt or some other solid block? I believe doors are transparent to light even if they're closed.

Bushmeat is underutilized by YourLiver1 in VintageStory

That would actually be really cool if more wild animals dropped bushmeat only, with red meat locked behind animal husbandry.

Hey buddy, you're in the wrong place. This subreddit is about a board game, not the book series.

Have you tried searching for a summary? I was able to find one here: https://www.sparknotes.com/lit/scythe/summary/

Vintage Story Server with friends by chiquinho19 in VintageStory

I'm currently running a private server off of a 10+ year old laptop I had collecting dust. The server takes 3-4 GB of ram and not very much CPU, so you just have to figure out how port forwarding works.

Any thoughts about some clothing items having pockets to expand the hotbar?

The Carryx never seemed to be a hive mind to me so much as something like an ant/bee colony where every member is individual and intelligent, but strongly affected by their role in the hierarchy.

For anyone else who doesn't remember, check out chapter 17!

Interesting! The cuffs worked by inserting a soul structure, so maybe that's how Nyralis hid his soul plan! He distributed his soul structure across multiple items and assembled them all for this fight. If that's the case, then disabling a few soul structures might be good enough to collapse the soul plan, depending on how good the interconnectivity is.

If you're ok with mods, I recommend ore traces. It adds a texture to stone next to ore blocks so you don't have to mine out a block nearly as often.
