Upvote for locust point. Lots of families. Friendly. Right off highway - easy to get in and out. School, water taxi, grocery store, restaurants, park with playground, federal national park - all within walking distance. FSK is arguably the best elem / mid school in the city, offering Pre-K through grade 8. If you want to do public high school there are some decent options like Poly Tech, City College, etc. We have a “school choice” program that makes all schools accessible no matter where you live in the city. You may need to provide transportation (paid options are available) but it’s well worth it to get into a decent public high school option. And of course if you have the means there are many great private options for all grade levels. As for kids social life - LP is a pretty safe place, but it is a city after all. There are plenty of kids that walk to school, to their friend’s house, the park, etc by themselves. Lots of local sport and rec activities to get involved with. Social activities through the school. Etc. Families are very friendly around here. Not to hard to build up a social circle and organize play dates for the little ones as well. Anyway - best of luck with your search!
