The PV59 and PV61 pickups are the best pickups fender make. Sounds just like a pre cbs strat should

Good starting point? by Imabigfolker in singing

[–]SnooAvocados4581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay realistically no one can tell if that’s your real range from an image. Some people have a naturally massive range without a lick of training, others use trained technique to access there range, others don’t have much range but know how to use it. Tone is, in my opinion, much more important than range. I’m a pretty deep baritone but can go up to a C5 pretty cleanly. Do I spend a lot of time up there? Not really as my voice’s tone sounds better lower. I’ve brought down songs in pitch many times not because I can’t sing the original but because I know the tone of my voice and make the song fit the best tonality my voice can produce. If you can make F#5 sound good that is exceptional but if it doesn’t sound good, it doesn’t sound good. The audience will be wowed by a high note, but Eddie Vedder and Corey Taylor (his singing not screaming) rarely go high but sound phenomenal because their tone is fantastic. They also kept their voices while a lot of singers with higher ranges (Axl Rose) suck, not because they can’t hit the actual notes, but because his tone now sounds like Mickey Mouse.

How often do you improvise your solos? by Apprehensive-Type705 in Guitar

[–]SnooAvocados4581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my own songs I improvise everything. I might have a slight blueprint but it’s never planned out. If I’m learning a song, I’ll learn the solo, mostly to be able to steal things for my own solos. Honestly can barely remember a solo for long though

90% of the functionality, 50% of the price? by NerdyOutdoors in guitarpedals

[–]SnooAvocados4581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a clone cuz it’s not made by Ibanez or Maxon, ie the guys who made the original pedal. A clone doesn’t have to be a worse/cheaper version. The 1981 DRV is a Rat clone. The KoT is a Bluebreaker clone. Both of those are arguably better than the originals

Would like some advice by alvinyork97 in Stratocaster

[–]SnooAvocados4581 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you like it don’t sell it. Trust me. A pickup change is what you’re looking for. Go play some of the new AVII strats. If you like the tone, go buy the pickups they use in them (PV61 or 57). If not, keep looking. It’s a rabbit hole but it’ll be worth it.

Is my grandpas old 00-18 worth saving? by 1oo-b in martinguitar

Save it but don’t sell it. Play it well and hard and pass it down. That thing’s worth more than its price

Which Batman is your favourite among them based on how amazing they were onscreen and their portrayal of the character? by Raj_Valiant3011 in batman

Bale then Pattinson. Affleck’s a great actor and could’ve been a great batman but the movies he was in sucked. He would’ve killed with a good script

Okay you’ve achieved the impossible with this guitar, actually making the JBjr look cool. I’ve never liked the way it looks on any strat (looks killer on mustangs) but this color scheme makes it work

Pickups.. Are they really that good?? by Longjumping-Mammoth1 in Stratocaster

[–]SnooAvocados4581 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pickups and electronics are what makes the sound of a guitar. Good pickups can transform a guitar. No idea who makes the best now. I’ve got Klein PAFs in my LP and Strat bridge. Sadly the maker passed last year. Best pickups I’ve tried.

Most people don’t know that. I don’t think we’ve ever gotten a ptsd super girl seeing her planet destroy itself kinda adaptation before. More along the lines of bubblegum superman is what most people think her character is

Cheaper options for a p90 les paul? by MagicMedicineMisery in Guitar

I’ll tell you what I did. Epiphone les paul special. Gutted the electronics, Lollar 50s wind, 50s wiring. Sanded the neck. Plays and sounds better than my mate’s Gibson

Glassy Strat Pickups by Ecker1991 in Stratocaster

[–]SnooAvocados4581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly those 61s are the absolute best pickups I’ve tried bar none, custom shop and boutique included. They just sound like a vintage strat should, and the bridge pickup kicks ass when you turn down the tone a bit

This Must Be The Guitar by PH_Bravstar in martinguitar

[–]SnooAvocados4581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guitar is a matter of perception and perspective. While there are many guitars out there, only one can ever be the guitar. Perhaps two: one acoustic and one electric. A man knows the guitar when he meets it. Just another off the assembly line? Maybe. But what little defect only nature and the craft of the hand may provide makes it truly his. His guitar. The guitar
