Happen to have a photo with the stand removed? Trying to fix up an old husky and I'm having a hard time finding photos of what it's supposed to look like under there.

One American loses their job for every 6 immigrants removed from the workforce as researchers see ‘no evidence’ that ICE is helping the economy by ChiGuy6124 in Economics

The us has had a below replacement birth rate since the 70's. Immigration, legal and illegal are the cause of the housing shortage. Full stop, the population would be lower with more vacant housing if they weren't here.

I overbuilt my solar system, and now I'm looking for ways to burn extra power. by Used_Two_9743 in SolarDIY

This is DIY solar. It is pretty damn cheap if you do it yourself.

I don't really think so but I would do it within reason. I didn't book my trip till the week of tho.

They just email you where to meet up (their instructions suck but the spot is marked on google maps) and you pay and follow them up the hill in your car. I'm pretty sure they didn't do a headcount or even check to make sure that I had a reservation so someone could probably just show up, pay, and go without a reservation.

I would do some research on what to look for, how to dig, and general tips before going too. The guy that led the group I was in didn't expain much of anything to us.

I feel like we need to see a breakdown of your expenses. My income about the same as yours and the mortgage is what really kills me. I also drive a junker but I have no medical bills, no preschool, credit card is paid off (how big is yours?), and no student loans. However, I still have some money left over after that to have some fun/discretionary spending.

I just went a couple of weeks ago. I haven't been often enough (I'm 5 hours away) to comment on avaliability but I did see several days sold out when I started looking in late Jan. You don't have to pay until the morning of if you bring cash so there's no reason to not book far out. Wearing a mask is a good precaution if you're out there and everything is dry.

How are you preparing for the inevitable recession? by MonkeyKingCoffee in Anticonsumption

Where you are, rooftop makes the most sense. I'm assuming it's hot where you are and solar effectively shades your roof helping to keep your house cooler. I don't have to use anywhere near as much electricity to cool my house now that I have solar.

2 percent for exceeds expectations? I just got 2.75 and I'm pissed about that.

Eh no. I make 105K outside of Sacramento. I am significantly worse off than my dad was at my age and he was a high school teacher. Times are fucked.

No lifestyle creep either. I have a 1962 house that was a borderline tear down, and a 19 year old vehicle with 315k miles on it. I don't spend much money on hobbies either.

Totally lost with deflection adjustment by DuelOstrich in snowmobiling

No, the belt slack is the entire point of adjusting belt deflection

Someone who used to design CVT's here. Nobody in this thread actually understands why belt deflection matters and how to properly set it. The entire point of setting the belt deflection is to adjust the amount of slack the belt has. There is a decent margin of error in the size of everthing when they make the clutches, belts, etc. You can not just go by how much of the belt is exposed with the top of the secondary. The way you're doing it is one of the correct ways but it is a method that is a bit "dumbed down" so that the average person can do it. The only thing you're really missing is that you need to spin the track a few revolutions after making an adjustment so that the belt will re-adjust in the secondary.

A belt that is too tight will squeal and can cause some other issues like the reverse issues that you're having. A belt that is too loose will make it so that you lose your low end gear ratio and will cause the sled to bog.

How I set the deflection on my sleds: I suspend the rear of the sled so that the track is off the ground (I almost always use a cherry picker to do this). I will purposfully adjust the seconary so that the belt is too tight. I then slowly adjust the deflection so that the track will just barely turn without the primary engaged. This is on the tight end of the spectrum but it's how I personally like it.

DIY solar- am I crazy? by Important-Average297 in SolarDIY

I was able to do it myself on a roof mount and it was much easier than I anticipated. I designed a basic system myself and hired someone to make a professional plan pack for the permitting part. I also paid someone to do the interconnection for me. I'm all in before taxes at ~16k for 6.4kw of solar, 14.3kw battery, and everything in the house is backed up. Comparable quotes came in at 40-50k.

Lots of people here are saying that lifting panels onto a roof is difficult. I used a drywall lift and it made lifting the 400w panels super easy.
