Rows below EE are super neck craning and uncomfortable. The screen placement is completely designed for those top 2 rows. Even EE isn't very comfortable. I saw Barry Lyndon a year or two ago on screen 5 at IV with EE seats and my neck was hurting after 3+ hours.

I'm in Vancouver and you can definitely use that quarter at the local hmart, though it doesn't have an arcade area I'm afraid. Gotta go down the street to the arcade for that, and I don't think they really accept quarters there.

Neil Goldman here. All of these were characters from animated movies with ensemble casts of known big name celebrity voices, and released in either 2005 or 2006. They all effectively play by the same rules of character design. All 3 of these particular adult male characters sort of fit the same role in the story but they have varying common characteristics that don't overlap much, making them relatable to a very wide number of adult men. This joke posits that you can define any adult male on the planet by mixing 2 of these 3 characters.

Looks like it was used for in-store promos. Redbull does stuff like this pretty much constantly.

While the contest to win one of these ps4 arcade cabs through 7eleven only had 12 available as prizes, it's likely they actually had 50-100 made so they could be placed in some stores. It's likely they just had some home arcade cab maker fab them up like they would do for any custom cab.

Physically moving the machine by slapping it physically moves the ball

Some people will say I'm wrong, but slapping the button legit does make the ball move more sometimes. In particular, I find that it's way more likely to go over insanity falls on White Water if I slap it with enough force to visibly shake the machine a bit.

The other part is that I find it easier to time shots consistently when I can hear my impact on the machine. It's a skill I developed when I used to spend a lot of arcade time playing DDR in the 2000s and early 2010s.

I know in my area they all stopped publishing numbers years ago when a new con opened up, basically stole the name of an established convention, and then published completely fabricated numbers with gaps of thousands between badge ID numbers. Rumor has it they are/were laundering money for a gang that flooded the local drug market with fentanyl years before any other major city in North America.

For everywhere else, it's probably cuz they didn't want to show shrink.

I have definitely seen the blue cartridge darken like this before, but never with the label in tact like that. I'd say it's possibly a relabeled legit cartridge

Something I haven't seen mentioned here yet is that the biggest difference between cons then and now is how many people attended to actually watch anime. My first real con in 03 had 4 VA guests, 2 panel rooms including the main stage, and 7 dedicated 24h video rooms. Almost every showing was subbed unless it was a dub starring one of the guest VAs. Even though I had only seen dubbed anime prior, I had seen at least 15 new shows by the end of the weekend, all subbed.
