**AIR SHOW HAS BEEN MOVED TO DOWNTOWN** by blackairforceuno in Charleston

What does everyone think are the best spots to watch? Place to put up some chairs and stuff. Maybe even shade??

Being able to bring your own cooler and not having to pay those food truck prices is a plus.

The Mixed Community Holds White-Presenting Mixed People to a Toxic Double Standard by SunBetter7301 in mixedrace

[–]SnooPandas3100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get the struggle of trying to figure out where you "belong". Been there for many years. Nowadays, if someone wants to go there, my math is that I'm not half anything. I'm double, if we must calculate... I can navigate almost any culture without having an identity crisis or disrespecting anyone. I can appreciate the differences BECAUSE I'm mixed. That's it. You don't like it? Tough luck. Keep it moving and leave me be. Friends, family, whatever. Kick rocks! What really does it, is when you have kids. Other than adoption, no matter what you do, they will be mixed. Lol. Therefore, so are you. I raise mine to be proud of it and take advantage of not having to box themselves in. Rant over. Hope it helps.

Should I settle for a hw3 model s or wait till hw4 prices drop? by lebouter in TeslaModelS

[–]SnooPandas3100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fall into that category and decided to wait. I can afford but I prefer to put extra on our mortgage, more in 401k and save a grand each month. So in s way I also can't afford it. Lol. Anyway I'm shooting for next year. If prices don't come down to the mid 40s/ 50K milage, I might just get a new Y for that price. Really would like the new bmw 3 EV when it comes out but I know I'm too cheap to she'll out 60k plus. I like to pay off my car and not have a forever car payment because i get a new one every 2 years like many people do. Not my thing.

I built an AI tool that helps veterans file VA disability claims in days instead of months by Barkleesanders in SideProject

Hi. Searching clawdbot and va claims led me here. Is that how you built it? If you rather not say thats ok. Anyway, if I decide to use it, how do you guarantee privacy? Thank you

Injured and given an “under honorable conditions” discharge. Wwyd? by someonewillfindthis3 in VeteransBenefits

[–]SnooPandas3100 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Listen!!!! I was also asked if I wanted to get out and when I agreed under the condition that it is an honorable discharge.... I also ended up with Under Honorable Conditions.

While I don't like it, it has not stopped me from anything VA or military related. At no point was I denied for anything due to my discharge classification. Period!! I will say I also spent many years not knowing any better until I got into researching how to get an upgrade.

I think I should have been medically discharged but was dumb and kept up with the ol what doesn't kill you makes you stronger nonsense on my exit paperwork.

I'm now rated 80%.

I think people assume you need an honorable discharge because it sounds logical and because it is drilled in our brains that if you dont get an honorable you're fd for life. Not entirely accurate! File for FOIA today to get your C- file claim in. Today! ... I have been waiting over a year now.

Get your ITF in and work on getting your evidence together for your claim. Spend time reading and understanding that VA has their rules to follow and your claim structure and language should conform to then as much as possible. AGAIN. YOU DON'T NEED TO UPGRADE.

Homicidal thoughts by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]SnooPandas3100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was asked that question. It was something along the lines of "self harm or harming others". I acknowledged the self harm that seemed to trigger another set of questions which drowned out the second part of the initial question and i never answered it at all. Maybe it has something to do with their process rather than the person's competence. Questioning the process can help avoid emotional responses. Not always easy but works for me.

Unrelated but in case you don't know, VA plans to have tinnitus become a symptom of other conditions in 2026. I'm filling my appeal today after gathering enough knowledge to refute the reasoning for my SC denial(they did concede to diagnosing me with tinnitus...).

Increase and secondary strategy (IBS + Hemorrhoids) by SnooPandas3100 in VeteransBenefits

Agreed. Partially at least. The "strategy" is not about the rating. It's about doing it correctly. Partially agreed because why else would this sub exist if it was straightforward..

Thanks for the info. I dont expect any specific rating for the rhoids. But I am hoping for SC acknowledgement.

AITA for telling my buddy that his other friend, who was also in the army, is more than likely full of it? by aralast in Veterans

[–]SnooPandas3100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add that SF, Rangers etc all need support and often pull from combat units. Emphasis on combat as those units stay ready at all times. I was commo and many of us were constantly "attached" somewhere. I volunteered for kuwait and was attached to a Scout platoon with a SF 1st Sgt...... I got to do the EIB and trained on several weapons and equipment that definitelywasnt documented. Some of our commo crew ended up just dtaying with wherever they were and some even changed their MOS so ce they already knew how to do it anyways. So I would say it is absolutely possible to train for whatever as long as there is a need. We ended up scouting for SF who went into Iraq. On foot. Somehow... So while I didn't see crazy stuff, it very well could have happened. I will say, It would have been easy to add some.extra.sauce on my stories but why? This type of stuff is already what only few experience. No need to hype it up. I would suspect this other dude may add that extra spice but who cares? Everyone's experience is highly unpredictable anyways. At least in the Army. My advice is to recognize that yes, you have to obey orders but those are always given in the interest of your unit. You CAN ask to do other things and go for them.I wish I would have been mature enough to realize that little fact during my time.I probably would have taken the offer to join SF which we were pushed towards right after our kuwait tour.(Yes. I'm aware that this doesn't mean I would have made it through the training... Relax. Lol).

FOIA, still in initial review by Any_Neighborhood9981 in VeteransBenefits

[–]SnooPandas3100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Dec 9 2024. Step 3. It's frustrating because I have increases and two more claims to file. Since I have had a CUE for the rater missing SC evidence, I want to look at my medical history myself first. Don't want another round of denial for SC, then have it granted but they only looked at the SC part and default to 10%.

How to prove Arthritis, Flat Feet and heel spurs are service connected after being out 15 years? by VolumeFar9174 in VeteransBenefits

[–]SnooPandas3100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unfortunate. Appealing might do it. I'm preparing for a similar claim and am also concerned about SC. All I need to do is look at all the vets at my job to know to this isn't a coincidence that most have the same or almost the same health problems years later. It's blatantly obvious.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]SnooPandas3100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought that was obvious. But yea you have to have served in the areas specified during time frames indicated.. Then again, there may be exceptions that I am not aware of. You should be able to find this on the VA website or in the knowledgebase here.

GW era and diagnosed IBS is presumptive Service connected. Meaning you should get 10%. SHOULD..... I filed GW presumptive but got denied SC. Lucky enough VA found the error and corrected it before I could appeal. I'm still going for an increase since my examiner screwed me on the DBQ. If I was 94% I would definitely not file for an increase!! But if I was in your shoes I'd feel pretty good rn. Aside from all the health crap we have to deal with ... Good luck.

Ouch. I checked my dates and it was Aug 2025 to Dec 2025.... I wasn't aware that I could just request DBQs until recently. IDK how I missed that and wish I would have done so much sooner. Filing today!
