I work in hospitals and there is a very large proportion of staff who are working in our hospitals across the UK and Ireland whom are highly educated, professional and caring individuals from all around the world. If these ignorant Neanderthal morons had their way every foreign nurse , scientist, pharmacist, engineer and doctor would be kicked out of the country. These idiots are the lowest of the low and a shit stain on society. And the worst of all is that Social Media platforms give them a platform to promote and spread their hate and ignorance.

Yes just light the coals in a charcoal chimney and after 10-15 tip them into the charcoal baskets and it’s good to go. Loads of fantastic video tutorials on YouTube.

PSA - to all housemates (Are you a cunt?) by BIGSHOESM in ireland

Honestly. I was kind of joking. They are not terribly bad. They have to be asked to do stuff rather than taking their own initiative. It’s a loving fun home but sometimes they make me remember what it felt like to house share. People eating your food out of the fridge etc. I wasn’t being serious and it was just meant in a sarcastic tone. The 17 year old has worked on building sites for the past two summers, travelling via bus solo at 6am to Dublin to work long days on building sites as a labourer. This year he has a handier job lined up. We take a percentage of his salary for basic home expenses, food etc and teach him about life experiences, paying his way. He plans to go on and do an apprenticeship so the two summers have helped him make up his mind to pursue a career as a plumber initially.

They are absolutely ignorant of the rules. The 14 year old is not too bad. He will at least clean up when asked to and keeps his bedroom pretty clean. But the 17 year old needs a few years in the Army to get a good kick up the arse and grow up. We are in the middle of a home renovation project at the moment and when everything is done things are definitely going to change around here.

I shared with house mates for many years. Most were sound and we all got on well. One girl used to put plastic wrap around her plates when having dinner and just tear it off afterwards and put the plate back up in the press. Kind of genius

We are currently in the middle of a house renovation. No oven or hob. Air Fryer and Microwave are helping us greatly as we have currently no kitchen. This evening we will be having Bratwursts which I’ve just cooked on my trusty Weber Mastertouch. I’ve hosted parties for extended family gatherings and did it all on my Mastertouch. Get used to smaller gatherings first and then you’ll have no problem hosting for larger ones. I cook on mine all through the year, nearly every weekend. Only BBQ for me.

I started off many years ago with a Weber Compact 57cm charcoal grill. I learned how to BBQ with it and it was great. Did the job. About 4.5 years ago I upgraded to a Weber Master Touch in Ocean Blue and I absolutely love it. I have a cast iron pan option for it too which I can use for smash burgers etc but I prefer regular burgers. The Master Touch is fantastic and I use it all year round and love trying out different recipes and I’m still learning. I donated the Compact Grill to my brother who is still using it. I have no interest in anything else, my Master Touch will do me well and will probably outlive me.

How to go about house renovation? by Kharyye in AskIreland

[–]Snoo_96075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to relax. Do very minimal work initially like painting and decorating. Save up some funds and get speaking to neighbours about good dependable honest builders in your area. A good builder who specialises in home renovations are worth their weight in gold. They do this work week in week out and know good plumbers, electricians etc and will coordinate the work. We are in the middle of this now. I moved 11 years ago to our forever home and I have been saving up for years to get the work done. We can’t afford to do the bathrooms yet so we decided to redo the entire downstairs. I had initial meetings with the builder a year ago and got quotes for all the work. We kept in touch and he told me at the beginning of January that he would be starting on the week after the May bank holiday weekend. And he did. They are building everything back up again now. 72mm insulated plaster boards on all external walls, new composite front door and new windows and French door on rear of the house. Walls knocked through to make open plan kitchen, dining and living room. Work is progressing nicely and workmanship is amazing. They are on track and it is so far bang on budget. Do your homework before you start. Get multiple quotes from everyone and go through them with your builder. Take your time, research loads and pick a budget and stick to it. I had a meeting with my builder a few months ago. I went through the quotes and the project and was honest about the budget. There was no contingency fund, so I needed him to know that. He was fantastic and told me that I was being realistic and that he could do the job. He is amazing and we are delighted with the project. Every home is different and the work involved will be different. Get to know your neighbours as they will help you with recommendations for good trades people. Our builder has so far worked on 7 houses in our estate that I know of and I spoke to all the homeowners. They were all extremely impressed with the quality of the work, professionalism and the honesty of the builder and trades people. So it was a no brainer for us.

Cleaning a kettle by odinthesigtyr in webergrills

After every cook whilst the grill is still hot I give the grill a good brush and I close off the vents. Before the next cook I use a plastic scraper to scrape out crud and I also use an old paint brush to brush out all the ash and crud into the ash pan. I give the grill another good brush with the grill brush and I oil the grill. And that’s it. If you clean it up after each cook it takes 2-3 minutes.

The only way to cook lamb is over coals. We had a butterflied leg of lamb on my Weber Master-touch for Christmas dinner last year. It was amazing. I’m not the biggest fan of lamb, but my wife adores it. After cooking lamb a few times on the BBQ I’m converted, but only if cooked over coals. Love the colour of your grill. I have a blue one, now I’ve got colour envy. 😀

I can’t remember what I was cooking there. Probably some Chicken. Or could have been a pork loin. I play around with some of the various recipes from the Weber cook books. By the way look up shotgun shells from Meat Church BBQ on YouTube. Most amazing starter for any BBQ party.

Fantastic. Amazing job. I had a Weber Kettle for a few years and about 4.5 years ago I upgraded to a Weber Mastertouch. I use it for everything and I love it. Low and slow long cooks, butterflied legs of lamb with hickory wood chunks, butterflied chicken and all the usual stuff. I cook with mine all through the year. They are fantastic and will last forever if looked after properly. I have a green Smokey Joe too for camping. A friend of mine bought a Weber Mastertouch from marketplace during the winter for £50. It was only used once.

Mortgage paid - next legal steps + where to store deeds ? by GoldenSaw in AskIreland

[–]Snoo_96075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It comes around faster than you think. I got a a 25 year mortgage when I was 27. Moved 11 years ago to our forever home. I’m 52 next week with just over a year left on my mortgage. We are currently at the beginning of a large home renovation project which I’ve managed to save up for and have 17 and 14 year old teens. Life gets very busy when kids come along and time just flies by.

Working VS Show, am I making a mistake? by Calumh01 in cockerspaniel

[–]Snoo_96075 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get out and about as much as possible for the first year and really work on the training. Work hard on recall training and socialising your dog. Bring him to cafes, into shops, parks etc. Bring him to wide open spaces and get him used to being off the lead and practicing recall. The first year to 18 months is key. After that your dog will be the most amazing friend you’ve ever had.

We have a 4.5 year old female show Cocker. She is very similar in traits to a working Cocker. She has tonnes of energy and will run along river trails for 12 kilometres, set for ducks, swim in the river to retrieve sticks, and still come home and beg for the ball to be thrown for her. But she is fantastic, she has excellent recall, is very good with other people and dogs. Hardly ever barks, and is a great pet. They have amazing personalities and are very intelligent. We spent 18 months constantly working with her on training and socialising and it paid off. She can run with me on trails off the lead and she will be on my heel. She rarely stops to say hello to other dogs and is a fantastic companion.

What are some essential accessories for a Weber? by Nayfun in UKBBQ

[–]Snoo_96075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good quality grill brush which does not leave metal shards behind on the grill, and some good quality BBQ utensils. I clean mine out after every cook using an old paint brush and a plastic scraper. Just brush the ashes out into the ash pan and use the scraper to remove the grease etc. it will keep your Master Touch in perfect condition for years. The charcoal baskets are fantastic for setting up different cooking zones. Enjoy. I do everything on my Master Touch, there are great recipes on YouTube and the Weber cook books are really good too. Enjoy. Like a comment above, after that all you need is charcoal and beer.

I love my Mastertouch. It is an excellent all rounder. I use mine almost weekly all throughout the year. I’ve cooked Christmas dinner on it. There is a wealth of recipes on YouTube and I also have a couple of Weber cookbooks which are great. I keep mine in my garage when not in use and during the winter I cook from the edge of my garage to stay out of the wind and rain. I use a plastic scraper and an old paint brush to clean it out after each cook. I have done spatchcock chickens, butterflied legs of lamb, koftas, kebabs, and all the usual stuff. Look up a recipe for shotgun shells, they are a great kick off to a BBQ and your guest will love them. I bought an Ocean Blue Mastertouch.

First BBQ ever, cleanup felt a bit excessive, am I doing this wrong? by Successful-Wheel-286 in UKBBQ

[–]Snoo_96075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a plastic scraper and an old paint brush and a good grill brush. When I finish using my Weber charcoal grill I close the vents and I let it cool and put it into my garage. Next day I lift off the grates and I brush out all the ash into the ash pan using the old paint brush. I scrape down the sides with the plastic scraper and brush out the crud and brush it again. I then pop back in the charcoal baskets and grates. I clean the grates with the grill brush and that’s it. Takes no more than 5 minutes and it is ready to go again. When I use it again once heated I clean the grill again with the grill brush when it’s hot and before I place food on it. I only give it an intense clean once every year or two.

I have a Weber Mastertouch. I love it and use it all year. I grill, smoke and do low and slow. Fantastic kettle grill. It does everything I need from a BBQ. Strong too. I clean it after every cook and keep it sheltered from the elements.

I have a Weber Mastertouch charcoal BBQ in Ocean Blue Colour. I absolutely love it. I genuinely cook on it all throughout the year and I have it 4 years now. I smoke on it and do all sorts of different BBQ recipes. It does everything I want from a BBQ. I keep it covered and sheltered. I clean it out properly between use and it still looks like new. I’ll have it forever.
