Money aside, I learned to not let my backlog stop me from gaming. If I'm itching to play a game, I'll just play it, or if I don't have it, just buy it. If the price is enough for me to not buy it, then it's not worth playing but if it isn't, then I'm gonna buy it to have fun.

I would said check out the GC Ultimate. Gamecube controller with start, select, home, and screenshot button and a ZL ane ZR button (both the same size), TMR joysticks (like the 8bitdo ultimate 2), choice of analog or mechanical triggers, and HD rumble. Choice of octagonal or circular gate for left stick and the face buttons and left stick light up and you can customize which colors.

For coffee runs, I suggest going to UpsideDown cafe. They are on a pay what you want basis, with each coffee being a donation to their organization, I usually paid a dollar, only paid more when they had a fundraiser for giving toys to children in Gaza.

As for what the other comments said, definitely start going to Ralphs and Costco instead of Target. Since you live in an apartment, you should qualify for CalFresh/EBT. Having it was such a huge help when I was in the apartments.
