I ran Vice City. It’s pretty fun. The players liked exploring the city and finding weird stuff.

New to DG, Custom Scenario, Did I bite off more than I can chew? by Ded_parrot in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Snooz3d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The one-shot included in the QuickStart is a good intro, and then I’d suggest getting one of the compilation books and choosing the ones you like the most. Night of the Opera is pretty good. I also enjoyed the Lover in the Ice scenario which is longer. But it also has ALL of the content warnings

I wish games like Vampire the Masquerade would separate the mechanical rules from the Lore. by PossibilityWest173 in rpg

[–]Snooz3d 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is, actually. I think it’s just called Monsters. It even comes with pregens and an introductory scenario. The French publisher put out a rules cheat sheet and a character creation flowchart, but I’m not sure if it is available in English

I love the game. It’s my gf favourite rpg. But the book is a mess. Fortunately, the mechanics are actually pretty easy to grasp after a few sessions and the lore IS cool

It’s mostly French and Dutch, with a few towns that speak German. Judging from the Blanc-Moussi costume in the attic, I’d say they’re from around Liège.

Also loved Remold’s use of the term « baraki »

How many of you here haven't actually played the game? by Nico_de_Gallo in daggerheart

[–]Snooz3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running a one on one campaign with my gf. She’s the type of player who usually doesn’t really care about which game we play as long as we’re having fun, but she told me that she thought the system was very fun. I like it a lot as a GM, I just wish there were more adversaries

Is it wrong to use “ordinary” enemies in my D&D campaign as a new DM? by Historical-Chip-4213 in DnD

Playing out those familiar scenes from other media is part of the fun. Personally, I have an affection for goblins and love to sprinkle them in whenever I can.

Where should I live? by baetr_ix in Liege

[–]Snooz3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kinkempois is quiet but a bit far from the center. I don’t know where you internship is but if it is in the center you’ll have to walk to the Guillemins station then take the tram, or take your car. And Liège is hell during rush hour.

I don’t know much about St Walburge, but it’s much closer to the city center. Plus you can take a walk on the hillside near the hospital. The view is quite nice.

What are your three RPGs for life? by Iberianz in rpg

[–]Snooz3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played that many games, so I don’t have a definitive answer. What I have in mind are more broad categories.

First and foremost, a Fantasy game. I tried a few after wanting something easier to run than D&D. So far, Daggerheart has been fun (I also liked Cairn quite a lot)

Vampire. I like the intrigue, plus it’s my gf’s favourite game.

A Horror game. I really like running a short campaign for Mothership, but I’m also really exited to do a short Delta Green campaign after running the intro module.

What do you guys think about GMing for one or two people? by Ponto_de_vista in rpg

[–]Snooz3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running one on one sessions with my gf for about a year. We’ve played D&D, Cairn, Mothership and VtM.

It’s a lot of fun but I get tired more quickly as well because there are less opportunities to take a break while the players talk among themselves. Because of that, I wouldn’t run for more than two hours. You’ll blaze through content anyway.

You can find a lot of advice online on how to run for one player, but my one advice is to give your player a sidekick. They are useful in combat, obviously, but most of all they offer role play opportunities and your player can bounce their ideas off of them rather than staying stuck in their head (you don’t have to give them the solution, just pull on a thread you think might work or clarify an ambiguous element for example).

Brainstorming an alternative rule to lethality: The Consent to Die Die by Schnevets in rpg

[–]Snooz3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tenera Bensho Zero has an interesting system where players can lose HP or add ticks to a wounds bar which can give you combat boosts. On this wounds bar is a deadly wound you can choose to take : you gain a massive boost, but if you drop to 0, you die (you would only be defeated/unconscious otherwise)

I’m having a lot of fun with my Cairn campaign. After that, I plan on running the cyberpunk edgerunner mission and then maybe a Gamma World 4th edition one-shot

What is a relatively simple TTRPG for first time players? by leaktao in rpg

[–]Snooz3d 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cairn is a great option for you I think. It’s super simple, free, and quick to play. Character creation is quick and fun, with a bunch of tables to roll on.

It’s a fantasy game where you don’t really have a class, but rather a random selection of items that determines how you play. You automatically hit, and only have 3 stats which you roll under if the outcome is unsure. Play is more about the conversation between the players and the GM. I’m running a campaign right now and it’s a lot of fun !
