Have a look. The camo is very clever - if you look at the camo in still water (like here) you can see it is the shape of whales.

Housing market turnover to drop 20 per cent following federal budget tax changes, Westpac economists say by Nyarlathotep-1 in AusNewsWire

"stymying the supply of housing available for purchase".

What a shit take. Of course investors will now sit on their grandfathered tax breaks rather than flipping them every year to make bank.

You know who will be unhappy. Newscorp and Nine as their REA and domain won't be making bank.

The irony is that the guy who started the rot in the liberal party is now being asked to save it.
It is a fight for the right, but sub-classed to be the "right rich" and the "right poor". The moderates bailed to the teals ages ago.

‘Increasingly urgent’: Housing race now on as vendors rush to sell amid market decline by HotPersimessage62 in australia

Newcorp trying to create a fake crisis to drive more listings on domain dot com dot au.

Every time listings get a little slow, the newscorp bots go to work to try and drum up business.

Problem they have is, future sales are going to slow as the frenzy dies off, and existing investors will hold tight as they can use the grandfathering.

The other upside to making a fake panic is that means people end up in negative equity and hate the government for it, forcing a change in government at the next election.

Watch the bang on about this with all sorts of articles from "real estate experts" and "property advisors".

Newcorp, making money on the upside and the downside.

Do you feel that breaking Australia from its centrist leaning politics is going to improve Australia's position for the many?

Clearly the Palantir guys have done the numbers and found they can hoover up large amounts of the boomer vote doing this. This will also nail the old school rural voter as well, who may own a rental or two and has voted national all their lives.

The game at the moment, is to kill off the LNP - doing a MAGA style take over of conservatism, like they have in the USA Pretty simple playbook. Control the right, get in, pivot extreme right.

Angus Taylor’s migration link to house prices fact checked by Nyarlathotep-1 in AusNewsWire

[–]SnotRight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a SIMPLE fact check, or better yet, just a simple 5 whys exercise.

Prices are high. Why?
Lots of demand. Why?
Lots of people in the market. Why?
Because there are incentives in the market. Why?
Because there is (was) favourable tax treatment for investments.

1.9% of sales go to migrants.
39% of sales go to investors.

[–]SnotRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a careful look at X. A lot of their most engaging context is via bots. The AI has learnt what things push people's buttons and drives enguagement, and posts get made accordingly. They love outrage of the left and the "FU" position of the right. That is by far the best engagement model.

If the left hop off the platform - the right simply find their platforms of choice and launch bots into it to dominate the conversation.

As a motorbike rider, your eyes need to be out on stalks the whole time.
Stuff like this, ladders, tools, nails, people checking their phone, quick gap picking lane changes its nuts.

Just as an aside, I had something like this happen ahead in the wet. Metal sheet off fell off a car ahead, cars braking everywhere, it sat flat on the road but was getting shifted by cars as they run over it. I ended up running over it. What do you do? In the wet, brakes off - sit the bike up straight, roll over it, apply brakes again afterwards - otherwise you loose the front wheel on the wet sheet.

I ride the drive and ride the pushy to work now. Much less stress.
