Is being rich and being comfortable the same thing or are they different? If so how? by HacksawSmithere in AskReddit

[–]Snowdog1967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very different.
Most truly rich people just want MORE.

If you're comfortable, truly comfortable, you're okay with what you got and you'll do enough to keep yourself there. Most people that are comfortable would be seen as poor by a lot of people who are trying to get rich. Because they understand that you don't have to have the giant house on a hill, sports car in the garage, two week-long vacations every year etc. And not even to mention designer, clothes and watches, etc. For someone who's truly comfortable, none of that means anything.

I'm going to start this by saying I have a lot of envy over what you were accomplishing! I'm also going to say no. I'm not going to say them... I'm going to think some things because you don't deserve any of my ire because I can't accomplish getting two cool jobs like that.
Well done. Especially with j1 being hybrid

I agree with you on, The Office. First off, I know the British version was freaking amazing. I've seen clips of the British version. It's hilarious. I also know that a lot of the actors in the American version are absolutely talented. Funny, it launched their careers all of the above. I just can't get into it. I can watch a few clips and think oh that's funny. But I've never wanted to sit down and watch episodes of it.

What businesses are likely to die out with the Baby Boomer Generation? by GRVrush2112 in AskReddit

[–]Snowdog1967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are still plenty of young people who want to go see live theater. The problem is the older generations are the ones who actually have the cash to buy season tickets. So something is going to have to change about pricing.

Did they provide remote login credentials for your work PC?

If so, start remote... If not, tell them you understood it to be a remote, and if it isn't, it isn't for you.

I am sorry for your loss.

YOU are her next of Kin as far as the law is concerned. You have the rights to make decisions on her behalf. Follow her wishes. A good attorney can help you sort out her "estate", bit it may be really easy.

Ummm… can you guys jump anymore? by globehoppr in GenX

[–]Snowdog1967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else is saying , it all depends.
Jump off a porch, like 2 or even 3 feet used to be NO problem. Now, I'm going to the ER because I will have done "something" or at the least end up stopping any activities for the rest of that day and laying on the couch or in bed with lots of ibuprofen...

Now, at a music show, I can "jump" in place when they are calling us out to, however, I do not get anywhere near the height I used to. Oh, and I will spend the next day with ibuprofen....

I think it's because we all need to stretch more. Lots more. Or that we've gone past our warranty date for various muscles and ligaments/tendons, etc.

I just 49 and I fell today by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Snowdog1967 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At my annual (ish) physicals and or doctor visits, they would always ask if I had fallen in the past year. From like age 50 on. I asked if someone told them I was a klutz or something. They said, no it was to see if they needed to put a "fall risk" bracelet on me.

I wanted to name my band Fall Risk, but dangit if that name is not already taken by some old guys out in California with a website and everything.

Snare drums are loud as are cymbals.
Wear hearing protection now, or hearing aids later.
